Title: What proficency are fists?
Post by: Andy on October 14, 2012, 02:28:39 am
What weapon proficency, if any, do fists use?
And, do gauntlets increase damage?

Heavy Gauntlets improve that dmg, as well as lots of STR and PS do. But there's no wpf, and thats a good thing. You're actually supposed to fight with a weapon as you also cannot block with fists (only chamber).

If only fist-blocking used the sheild skill, then we 13+ sheilders could heal ourselves. :)

Pretty sure only STR and gaunlet weight affects punch damage. My 47 STR stf with heavy gauntlets has mike tyson punches. I don't think punching is affected by and WPF.

I still fully support the implementation of an actual fist weapon. They DID exist in the Middle Ages, by the way.

Yeah something like punching the opponent in the face to interrupt him as if you are kicking and stuff.

I want this! Punch damage 100 pierce. Knockdown and crush through. Kills all ranged units who dare to aim at me, no punching needed (special attack activates when middle finger is raised and every ranged unit in sight dies.)

we need a petition to add unarmed WPF.

I wanted to make a kung fu ninja while back, but you'd need like 30/30 build to be decent ;/

Closest you could do is a 21/21 build at lvl 30.

Gauntlets weight affect damage, there is a real need of a 5+ weight, low armor gauntlet item in this mod. Hell maybe even 10 weight so that the lower str build can do damage with punches.

I've said this before, but blocking while unarmed should function as a shield to a certain extent. It would only protect you from a portion of the damage you would take from not blocking, but it would allow you to trade swings in a fight without having to attempt chambering held swings all the time.

Also, once pugilism becomes viable I'm making a monk clan. Just saying.

if only there was a Shaolin monk robe in the mod......

At fifteen, I had the will to  learn ; at thirty, I could stand ; at forty, I had no  doubts ; at fifty, I understood the heavenly Bidding ;  at sixty, my ears were opened ; at seventy, I could  do as my heart lusted without trespassing from the  square., that is why there isn't one.
