There was this one painting that I completely forget the name of and the artist. I saw it at the Frist building in Nashville a few years back, it was an incredibly detailed self-portrait with some fantastic embellishments (galaxies swirling in his sleeves and the like). The fact that I will never again see it or even know it's name, most likely, is deeply saddening, though the faded mental image I retain of it still makes it my favorite. If I ever happen across it again I'll edit :(

That's awesome, I really like paintings featuring an eerie character in black robes, if you couldn't tell :P

The problem with post-1900 plastic arts is that you still have beautiful/interesting things, but there's a flood of ugly crap that only interests critics. I mean, I could just shit, take a picture before flushing, hang it somewhere and some people would still comment on how profound and passionating my feces are.
