Title: Give langes messer a polearm option

Why?

If you're using a long spear or especially pike you most often want to have a side arm with you. You are facing two options: to have a quarter staff or military fork on your back and look like an idiot. Who the fuck would pack a quarter staff on the back for a supposedly fast drawn sidearm? The other option is to spread your wpf to 2h or 1h and get a decent 1 slot sidearm on your hip. Not exactly nice either.

Having 1 slot pole arm that doesn’t block aiming sight on the back would also make pole arms more viable for hybrid archers.

Good luck with a length like that. 28 length shorter than the shortened spear. :P

Just get some 1H or 2H prof if you want a backup weapon or use shortened spear, military fork or quarter staff.

Care rats ass if it's bad or not, give people option to choose. Besides short weapons mean you're fast which compensates a lot. And who uses half swording any way, this would make at least some use of it.

2h secondary mode like its now is way more logic.

Your suggestion is like... giving a pick a 2h option.

I've tried using the bastard sword in secondary. It's not good by any means but still enough to handle a few unwary or inexperienced players without too much trouble. Thing you can't really do with a pike. By no means potential for primary weapon use but still suits role of the side arm well.

Putting extras is WM is quite big demand just for a side arm. At least for me maybe 90% time spent on rounds is with the main weapon. On the polearms on the back, I cringe every time I see a piker/long spearist with a pole arm on his back. It just looks terrible. Surely efficient but I don't feel like breaking themed outfit with such things.

Sorry not following. Langes messer is a sword with 9 reach less than bastard sword that has polearm opt as secondary. Having 2h secondary for pick is a bit different thing don't you think?

As long as Langes Messer stays with its 1h/2h option. Wouldn't want it to go polearm.

+1 for variety. Give some longer one hander a half swording mode.

Maybe the Arabian Guard and Arabian Cavalry swords?
