Well as you all know going nearly all str is the thing to do. Why? Well frankly you just dont swing a weapon that much slower than an AGI character. Especially if its an heirloomed weapon. So, why don't we take all the weapons in game and decrease their weapon speed by 10.
Once every weapon in the game has been decreased by 10, we can than reinstate the swing speed bonus from agi and wpf to a normal level.
What will this do to the game?
Well, it will reimpliment the difference of swing speed between str and agi characters. While not causing characters with hyper speed thats so insane that the game engine and latency cant even distuinguish the weapon movement from player to player. Or give someplayers weapons so fast that the fixed block speed for a character is surpassed.
So thoughts on recreating a game changing difference in swing speed but still not allowing hyper speed impossible for the system to pixelate. Sound good?

Well, first of all, there never was a weapon speed bonus from agility. The tooltip was clearly placed there to mislead everyone.
Second, I also think swings in general should be a bit slower, especially the heirloom speed bonus, since it just compounds the increased damage, but I don't think that's a very popular standpoint. Seems most people who play this like fast things and such.
-
Quite honestly, the thought of vikingr-style slow-mo swings make me sad. Where will I go to keep my reflexes sharp?
-
Well no, your character will only be in slow mowish mode if you make a str build.
-
You know its bad when a pure strength build 2h character swings nearly as fast as an agility 1h character.
I vote for something needs to be changed, I like your idea but the reduction in all the weapons base speed might be unnecessary.

The purpose of reduction in all areas is to prevent what the original agi nerf intended. Which was characters swinging so fast the game, servers, and other players screens couldnt keep up with it.

A major factor was also character level, would this still be an issue within the normal level 30 character build?
Basically we need to find out if a pure agility class with a fast weapon at level 30 would be able to break the registry, then reduce weapon speeds accordingly I think.
-
I'd like it if heirlooming weapons only gave 1 speed point at the masterwork stage, and only for some weapons.
-
No, no. Do not slow everything down further. That is bad.
You can just make it so WPF doesn't scale so exponentially to achieve faster weapon speeds for agility chars.
Then you achieve the same thing without making the game extremely slow like molasses. Good duelers already last for minutes in constant fighting (ever watch Cyranule vs Man of War duel on NA?) without making any mistakes.
If it were slower they would NEVER be able to kill each other, not even with chambers as they would always be able to be blocked in time.
-
it is already frickin turn based - you want us to mail it in as well?
-
Yes make agi what it should be. Although with the current increase of heavy str builds I get a lot of hate for being quite fast, while its actually them that have become slow as shit. Which is funny.
-
No, leave it as it is. If you want to be as fast a bruce lee the price to pay is that you do no damage.
"fly like a butterfly, sting like one too".
I heard the legend about the odd players that cannot be fainted and duels last forever. This game is not about duels and I have yet to see a round being dragged on because the last two were dueling it out for hours. At least it would be more interesting to watch than the last HA being chased around. People want super fast character so they can make ninjas that can outspam any opponent. A too big speed difference between players is bad for the game. No thanks.

My opinion is that one should perhaps not increase the max-swing speed, but make the str-builds slightly slower, as it is a no-brainer to go for a lot of STR nowadays. Even I got 18, and don't really suffer from it.
I understand that pre-nerf my lvl40 with about 210wpf, 30 agi, 10 Athletics and 6pthrow might have been a tad OP.. :-)
Giving a slight slight nerf to choosing STR in swing speed, and giving Athletics some of its puff back would be nice. Not by a lot of course, it's almost perfect now.

Lvl 44 27/27 build 2h.
Compared to that, crpg now feels like ultraslow.
Make the game faster again....

Changing the WPF curve back to how it was before would go a long way for that.
-
Or part of the way back.

Or part of the way back.
I agree.
Also, making WM add more proficiency points or having agility add 5 WPF might help make agility a more appealing stat.
