Title: Archer tournament ??
Post by: Chagan_Arslan on September 17, 2012, 08:19:01 pm: Just to check if there is enough willing to participate archers (and xbowmen), if the number is high enough i might turn this topic into a tournament for the most loved off all classes!

it could take place on Ranged Arena on that map
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

some basic rules ? (any ideas for something else ?)
1. You win by either killing enemy team or by running to the opposite team box (blue / red )
2. Archers and Xbowmen allowed ?
3. You need to spawn with weapon and armor

If you are an archer or xbowman that would like to take part in such tournament post it here so we can have the idea how many people would like to join it.

dont know yet the mass of archers that would like to participate overwhelmed me a bit ;)

What? An archer vs archer fight is even more horrible to watch than a shielder duel. Still, nice idea.

Would we be allowed to bring melee weapons to the fight?
If not, crossbowmen are at quite a disadvantage.
If yes, it can bring advantages to certain players (mostly thinking of shielder hybrids)
Also, if there is no melee allowed, and arrows finish, it would be boring

Post by: Chagan_Arslan on September 18, 2012, 04:29:48 pm: Dont forget about that running to the other team "box" and winning a round because of it. That could bring the fight closer and make it more dynamic. If you didnt saw the ranged arena yet, its a square with 11 rocks 5 rocks on each side and one middle rock. These rocks reach to shoulders so you can always get headshot but should cover whole xbowmen when reloading. There is also a kind of tunnel on one side of the arena. If one team is bad at aiming you can just rush to the other side and win by reaching their box.

As for melee weapons i dont think they should be allowed as this could quickly turn into a melee brawl, there might also be some armor restrictions so that people dont spawn in plate and just go for the enemy box ;p

I think it has a potential to be fun and quick tournament but than again to make it people are needed and this community seem not to like such events ;p well unless fallens are organizing ofc ;)

Exactly what i meant when i said that. I just didnt want to be too rude and say that the whole idea/tournament is meh. Like u just did in a way, and then said that it was a good idea after?

The match starts with 1 archer and everybody else as a naked peasant. The archer stands in a fixed position whilst the peasants have to run from one end of the arena to the other. The archer scores 1 point for every enemy that they kill. All players then take it in turns to be the archer and the highest score wins.

Its simple, fun and much more watchable than archer duels

sounds bad and a waste of timereally ;p better to compare skill vs players than non moving targets ;]

anyway closing as there is not enough people willing to take part in such event
