Title: Rouncey, Steppe, or Desert horse for Katana Cavalry?
Post by: Dalfador on September 14, 2012, 06:20:03 am
I suppose the manuverability from the steppe would be good but the desert has 2 more speed which would be nice. What do you guys think. My stats are:

I personally used the Rouncey most of the time since I'm cheap and still manage to outride people with loomed arabians/coursers, but the Desert Horse is the most suitable of the cheap horses for 2h cav.

Although the best horse for 1h/2h/hafted blade cav, is probably the Charger.

I'll move it to the beginners help for you.

Jobs done.

Also I would go with the Steppe Horse, I use it with my current char which also a 2h cav, with the same build as yours and the manoeuvrability in close quarters is very vital. Even if it is just 1, just 1 can be quite important vs agi chars. Desert Horse is also good though I'd say its down to personal preference.

Depends whether you like to stay in melee or just do drive bys.

I'd go Rouncy, most body armour and health of the three and it's cheaper than a desert horse.

Being able to take hits is important for katana cavalry, since you'll be lacking the length that a polearm would afford you.

If you know where you're going your horse isn't fast enough.

Get a courser.
