Hallo.
I see that the siege server is full many times, when i like to play siege.
I Think i maybe could use my server, so we could play 200 slots siege.
But is that a good idea or bad idea?
I know many hate siege, but also many hates battle.

there are a lot who play siege...sometimes a second siege server would be nice...

if you will have +150 peps on siege, I love to play that all the time

200 slot server would be so cool, imagine the forces clashing at the entrance points, all the ladders would be manned and all the doors wouldbe guarded. :)
Allthough i guess the lag would be enormous.. With the respawns etc.

Dont know about lag, only that is a 1000 Mbit connection

amount of players on siege server changes chances of both teams terribly. When there are 40 people it's hard to defend but when there are around 80 people it's harder to attack than if there were 40 people. If there were 140 people I guess all the time there would be at least 1 defender alive at the flag no matter what and conquering any castle would be pain in ass.
Siege is balanced when there is 70-80 people. More can break the balance.

If more, team balance could be tweaked ad add maybe +10 people to attackers.

In the past we had EU2 server with 120 slots and was unplayable due to the large lag. Later they give us two siege servers with 80 slots - EU2 and EU5.
EU2 still lives and EU5 was the non-stop empty, so they turn it to lvl 20 server.

Hell yeah! If there are no technical problems with 200 or let it just be 120 people this would be awesome.
Making a second siege server is no good idea I think. In my opinion siege doesn't make much sense with less than approx 40 players (ninja rush often possible) and I doubt there would be enough players for two siege servers... unfortunately.

KUTT offered many times to put up a Good NA Siege server and they declined many times, we also opted to put up an NA <20 lvl server like EU has, and they declined as well. They most likely don't want the servers they already pay for to go unused.

Yes, but if these other servers are better and lag free then what's the point?

In medieval sieges attackers outnumbered defenders by álot, the problem with m&b/crpg is that the numbers are so low that not all ladders etc are manned, if 200 man servers are introduced the attackers should get extra men when the population is over 'X' amount of players. With low numbers this wont work.

EU2 used to be 120 slots and it worked beautifully, it was often 100+ people there and much intenser fights than now.
I never had any lag whatsoever, neither fps nor ping. And that was with my old computer from 3-4 years ago.
But people complained, and now its 80slot.
I think a 120slot siege would work very well on most maps, the old classic maps at least. Some of the newer stuff is kinda small and cramped already.
200 actual players wouldnt work well i think, the maps arent designed for it. Some maps would be impossible to assault.
If we got back portable ladders though, then WOHOOOO it would be awesome.

One thing I've always said is that population under X amount and defense timers should go down a bit, population above X amount and defense timers should go up a bit. Would solve much of the siege population benefits issue (lots of people = easier for defense, few people = easier for attack)
Also, wouldn't need to be 200 slot, just another siege server option would be nice.

Many maps is not that good.
