I know that power draw reduces your WPF by -14/point but is it better to have more PD or more WPF? My 3rd gen is going to be an archer or a xbow so i'm starting to look for these kind of answers. Iv'e looked here and there and made some tests using the calculators and here's 3 of the best archer built iv'e found:
The 21/21 built: The 24/18 built: The 18/21 built:
STR: 21 STR: 24 STR: 18
AGI: 21 AGI: 18 AGI: 21
ATH: 3 ATH: 3 ATH: 7
PD: 7 PD: 8 PD: 6
WM: 7 WM: 6 WM: 7
WPF: 165 WPF: 156 WPF: 164
HP: 56 HP: 59 HP: 59 (3 IF)
Now, which one to pick? Or should I go xbow?
The 15/27 built: The 15/24 built:
STR: 15 STR: 15
AGI: 27 AGI: 24
ATH: 8 ATH: 8
WM: 9 WM: 8
WPF: 181 PS: 5
HP: 50 WPF: 169 (xbow) and 50 (1h)
HP: 54 (2 IF)

X-Bow is where all the cool kids play.

If you decide to play Archery id do a
18/24 :
Athletics 3
Power Draw 6
Weapon master 8
WPF : 172
Affective WPF : 88
Reason : There is no reason to go over 18 strength archer simply because you lose range effectiveness. If you are worried about not being able to run fast with only 3 athletics you also have to look at how much agility you have the more agility you have the faster you go, agility adds a small % to your running speed.
Today I tested alot of Archery builds.. and Higher power draw is just worthless stick with 6.
I have been playing Crossbow (Arbalest) for a long time now This is the build I have used for the past 15 Gens
15/27 :
Athletics:5
Power Strike:3
Weapon Master: 9
*Crossbow WPF:* 170
* 1 hander WPF:* 85
Reason : I tried all most of the Arbalest builds that are possible with level 30 and I settled with this one simply because, I can out run most stronger players, I can still defend myself if I ever find myself cornered. While keeping max range with my arbalest as possible.
as for choosing of the class you want to play....
Do you find your self in battle or siege more?
Archery is more effective on battle, and DTV.
Arbalest is more effective on Siege.
Also with the new Point system dont ever expect to be on top of the score board with either class especial if your going at it with 0 looms

I mostly play DTV and siege a bit, but its for my alt not my main so it doesnt matter i just want an archer or arbalest

If you like to gimp yourself a bit towards Siege, you might try to do this:
Level 30 (4 420 577 xp)
Strength: 30
Agility: 12
Hit points: 65
Skills to attributes: 14
Ironflesh: 0
Power Strike: 0
Shield: 0
Athletics: 3
Riding: 0
Horse Archery: 0
Power Draw: 10
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 4
One Handed: 1
Two Handed: 1
Polearm: 1
Archery: 140
Crossbow: 1
Throwing: 1
Any bow will do, but obviously most damage is with Longbow or Rus Bow.

You must know that you'll be able only shoot at big targets. Really big, like mountain, or castle wall.
Also you'll be poorest archer in the world with 0 effective wpf in archery.

If you want to pew pew more without much reloading, archer. If you want to hit like a truck, arb. One good thing about being a xbower is that its much harder to sneak up on you since you can look around when you reload. As an archer, you can get into tunnel vision pretty easily if you focus too much on one target or area.

Then I would do Archery. Make sure to Stay lightly armored and carry a 0 slot back up weapon, stick with ones that can be used to block.
If you do decide to go with the build I use, its a must to stay lightly armored or you will be out ran.

I mostly play DTV and a bit of siege (ON MY MAIN) and this is going to be tested on my atl so it doesn't matter where it really is effective

I tried a gen as a 24/15 longbow archer. 8 power draw and 8 power strike. You don't need two quivers of arrows, every shot is a potential kill. And 8 PS means you can pick up just about any weapon you find during the round and deal some serious damage.

Yoy have to remember one thing: archer is main target for enemies cav, speed runners, other archers, and x-bowers.
IMO 3 ath is too low to be able to keep shooting and following your team, changing your positions, avoid cav and etc.
6pd is enought for archer, it's better to be mor accurate, because archer who is not hitting enemies is just useless.
I tried many bulids (11 gens of archery) and best for me is 18/21 with 3 ps.
I play on battle servers, and sometimes siege.
