Title: This Character Belongs To Someone Else
Post by: Sir_Winston_Churchill on September 09, 2012, 08:34:20 am
So I'm trying to play crpg and every time I try to join a server it says "This character belongs to someone else" and kicks me. I recently re-installed my C-RPG files but other than that I haven't done anything else. Any ideas on what I should do?

Rename your character, this name is already used by another player...

Characters are tied to your cd-key. So if you're trying to access a character you've already made on a different account, it's not going to work.

Winston Churchill... I find that name very offensive.

Just a few things:

I've been using this character for months and haven't changed anything. All I did was reinstall C-RPG with the new launcher. I can still play Native just fine but I get kicked when going into a c-rpg server. I'd really like to use my character cause I've put A LOT of time into it...

Edit: Originally I bought the game off Amazon and used that copy but I recently bought the Steam version in a bundle package and installed it but I never changed my CD-key and even when I try using my Amazon copy (which is still installed) c-rpg kicks me.

I searched and found the CD key I've used to play the game for all this time. Is there any way I can use it to verify that it really is my character?

Problem fixed, when I bought the steam version it changed my cd-key in the registry. This thread can be closed.
