How about a teammate with a torch can walk up to someone and hold F on them 'Ignite Arrows'

Make them only available on night maps so people would actually kind of want to play them. Also during strat battles they could have a 10% increase on damage for destructible targets such as siege towers and catapults as well as shields. Maybe add a .5% chance to set a shield on fire, instantly destroying it? Just an idea.

You can't set anything on fire with them.
You need to pour oil or some other flamable shit before you shoot your flaming arrows to burn stuff.

Not entirely true... back when buildings were mostly wood with thatched roofs flaming arrows were used as more than just tracer rounds.

Now, plonking a flaming arrow into a shield certainly wouldn't cause it to burst into flame. Siege equipment could be damaged extra. IRL fire was a problem for siege towers, they'd be covered in metal or wet hides and they'd still occasionally go up in flames.

They were also used to primarily demoralize the enemy if used against live targets instead of static targets. Having an arrow stick out of your armor is a bit unsettling, but having a burning arrow stick out of your armor will do a bit more damage to enemy morale(even though it will likely just burn for a short time and then go out, painless and easy). Nobody likes bits of burning anything being flung at them or stuck to them, even if it does not penetrate.

I suggest torches ( not the weapon ) could be able to flame your arrow.Then, your arrow would be able to destroy quickly tents , chests  , and small wooden doors ... I'm agree with teeth on this point .

flaming arrows, shit reload speed (you need to put them on fire), shit reach, but great damage to anything thats from wood. Also pretty expensive maybe? and it should actually come with some kind of fire basket if you want to be fully realistic

No need to be expensive, just make them an automatic repair after each round. After all, they're burned down.  :lol:

I think it would be best implemented if you could equip flammable arrows, and you had to be near a fire which automatically lights your arrow when you draw it, or you draw it, activate the fire (he then dips the arrow into the fire) and it becomes fiery!
I would've thought fire arrows would hurt less on impact but obviously burn people/stuff to cindery goodness, they would have a steeper arc of trajectory and less projectile speed. I would assume they would be inexpensive, but that may not best serve the gameplay.

Could be tactically awesome if you can burn bridges and stuff, (not only fire flaming arrows, but: torches, knocking over braziers, lighting pools of oil etc) people inclusive!
