Title: Raiding.... Spoils of war?????
Post by: bimmerson on August 25, 2012, 08:35:07 pm
G'day,

Just wondering if its normal for the Battles section in c-rpg to be showing the defending army of fief to have  a:503 when i'm raiding a fief that has 500 population and only 3 army.....

I was under the impression i should just be fighting the army (3), not army and population (503)

Thanks in advance

Did the defenders show up and spawn in? If so, did they wear gear? It seems likely that the village you raided has no defenses within it to loot, though AFAIK the length of a Raid also determines the amount which will be gained from it, so maybe that's playing in here.

An army arrived too late to join in the battle... I managed to flee to next town after the "raid", before the army attacked me.

The fief only had 3 army and 5000 n something gold... They spawned in naked.... I thought that the gold from the fief would be up for grabs????

Only gear that they use to defend with???

If so, raiding is completely useless.... no motivation for a fief owner to bother trying to defend the raid.... just use the arms to fitout the population if the attacker desides to attack after raid....
keep one soldier posted as naked cannon fodder and all real troops in the roaming army.

...

If you take all their armor and weapons, (in addition to killing all their soldiers) they will have to BUY everything again. It costs ALOT to buy stuff.

It' what happened to chaos in their castle. They had gear for their last 2500 men (population) and got raided. Can't buy decent equip for that many people.

Sometimes it's worth raiding - sometimes it's not. Usually worth it tho. =)

We had gear for about 1000~ tickets (out of the 2200 population) and after being raided were reduced to one or two weapons of each type we had in there and a couple dozen armor pieces (split between the slots).

Whether or not a raid is worthwhile depends on the amount of fighting you want to do. If they've got very few or zero troops, raiding effectively eliminates their ability to defend themselves, unless they can resupply before the next attack. The only downside to raiding from a logistical standpoint is that it locks your army down for another 24 hours before you begin an attack to contest the fief's ownership.

We acknowledge your ability to lead your men in raid on a defenceless village, But you are now on the Nordmen most wanted list Bimmerson.
