Title: [continuation] samurai armor remplacement pack [poll]

I make this post to continue the discussion on samurai armor (http://forum.meleegaming.com/suggestions-corner/new-samurai-armor-emerged-osp/15/) and regroup information.

Gazda has proposed to replace the armor of samurai in cRPG by this one (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,230171.0.html).
cRPG have 3 version of the armor, So I created three different versions with that of Gazda to match with those of cRPG:

I made a replacement pack so that everyone can test:

Additional replacement of Wisby Gauntlets for those who want to test

if you do not like it, you can use the repair option to return to default.  :wink:



And finally for the devs, I made an osp ready to use.
It contains all the models and lods with their textures.
It also contains frames for women and the positioning of the helmet is adjusted so that they do not float in the air.

There is only the code and images for the website to make.  8-)

I know they are not perfect, but I think they will always be better than what we currently have.

Firstly, great job converting the one armor into the three-armor setup used in cRPG.  Looks good from your screenshots.  One question though; why leave out the kote?  I'd include just one version of the kote to be used by all three armor sets.  With recommended stats the same as either mail gaunts, wisby or lamellar, depending on what people prefer.

Also, I know the work isn't originally yours, but are you able to tweak the specular so that it doesn't look like it's coated in plastic?

For gloves, they are in the osp but not in the replacement pack.
The replacement pack is made solely to replace samurai armor already present because they are ugly.
Gloves already present have their place and are not related to samurai stuff.

However, if the devs want to use the osp, gloves are inside. free to devs for implement.

After the improvements the latex shit turned in some awesome armors, great work!

Gonna roll a weaoboo japanese warrior alt aswell if they get implemented/replace the current ones.
Gloves are awesome too, gonna put them as my main gloves if theyre in :)

I'm enjoying the replacement pack a lot. But the gloves don't look like they do in the pictures here, they're a lot lighter in color, not really matching the armors. They're kinda light gray if I recall. Am I missing something?

I was just gonna post to ask if the updated files before the one you just posted were already fixed cause they looked darker in the game right now. Wonder if you snuck that in before posting this? Anyway, can't wait till these are official and "strange gloves" get their own slot, they look great in their own right and can be used with other stuff well I think.

I'm somewhat partial to the strange armors that we currently have, but I think this new set matches the rest of the CRPG armory more closely. They don't pop out in the field of battle as much as the current armors do. No idea which one is better as far as historical accuracy!

I mentioned at first how I wasn't using this gear but was gonna use the mod anyway. Of course that was a ridiculous notion. I've since created an alt specifically because of this and bought upwards of a 100k worth of ninja and samurai gear.  :mrgreen: The lamellar ninja setup looks legit now with the gloves and ninja boots. Woo!

whatever the size of the armor, women have always the same hitbox..
Armors have no hitboxes, only those of bodies are used

Everyone knows how much do I like Samurai/Japan.. making topics and asking to have more of their equipment added, but these models do not represent Samurai/Japan in any way.

The beauty of Samurai armor is its color! They are all different, and someone want to add some black crap in to the game. I say, keep the ones we have in the game, at least they differ to a level where it is easy to notice the difference weather we fight against light/medium/heavy.

Plus, dont mod them if you have no idea what are you doing.

One armor got in the game, okay, keep the rest of this garbage away.

You do it for yourself, and for those who like it. I owned every single piece of Samurai armor and sold it, knowing it will be sooner or later changed. I have no interest in this at all.

I'll probably redo those models to add more color variation. But i have some priorities to do before that.
