Summary:

We are a knightly clan dedicated to Strategus Players, Horseman, and Infantry with equal care and attention.
We value Respect, Honor, Teamwork, and Loyalty. on Strategus, we are Vassals of The Risen, and share the same territory, for the time being.

Respect - Respect your teammates, and always be honoring to the clan, and to others. We don't like flamers or trollers.
Honor - Don't kick people while their down; fight fair, never run from a battle, and NEVER leave a teammate to die.
Teamwork = Everyone here is a part of a unit. That is our strength... unity. People must fulfill their roles with diligence. Always help a clanmate.
Loyalty - We all play together, and once you join, you are part of a unique family of individuals. This isn't a place for clan jumpers. If you have a history of clan jumping, you won't find a home here.

too detailed.
for the red use the default-red thats used for the banners... because of the back. the rose and the tribals looks "paintbrushed" (like Leiknir uses to say).

He's still very much with us. Been quite active as of late actually. He stepped down as the King because of real life matters, and getting a new job. It took a lot of time out of him, and so I took up the throne.

And very nice screenshot, I love it!  :P

I apologize sincerely Darven, didn't realize I never welcomed you into our clan. So, welcome BlackRose_Squire_Darven!  :D :D

another look at the banner progress:

made the red a lot darker. edward requested that it be blood-red and to make a gold border on the side of the banner, which i did.

the Ferrari horses fit entirely on the heraldic mail if i placed them so they were facing away from each other, so that was changed as well.

the "washed out" areas around the midriff in the transitional armor are part of the actual armor itself and not fixable by adjusting the banner.

Banner looking good Callous!

A couple questions / suggestions:

1) Do you know what it looks like as the overhead icon of teammates?  Hopefully focused on the rose and not on the horses.

2) Looking at the banner you're working on compared to the other clan banners I wonder if we might want to enlarge the rose part and center that primarily.

3) Maybe the rose could be centered and larger, and the sword could be diagonal through the rose instead of the rose being the handle?  Might want to ditch the horses if going this route to keep it simpler.

Feel free to incorporate/ignore these as you see fit  :D

so, according to sittingbull, i have to beat 3 of the 5 knights in duels without losing a single life, then i have to beat a baron or noble, i get 2 tries, then i get to demonstrate my "leadership skills" by commanding a battle. and for my fourth and final task i must travel to russia and procure a bride for sittingbull. (i am thinking about logging on to our old teamspeak server in russia and finding one that way, much easier)

We now have our own 50-man server. Currently no xp/gold/stats are saved so whatever happens on the server wont affect your actual cRPG character. It is set to duel and Jeff has been kind enough to make us our very own BlackRose training ground map (its pretty effing sweet... check it out)

Server name is BlackRose_Knights_TX and is based out of dallas. Torak gets 16 ping and sittingbull gets 18. the rest of the NA crew should get between 30-80 with the exception of our canadian and panamanian friends.

Wow, very cool!  I'll have to check it out later tonight.  Is it hard to map?  I'd love to tinker with it sometime if we are going to be adding more to the rotation.

Are there plans to add stats to the server in the near future?  I know that will come with other responsibilities (admins, restrictions etc) but it would certainly be great exposure if that works :)

But yes, everyone, the BlackRose now owns a server. Thanks to Callous for getting that all set up!! If any members are willing to help throw in for the server expenses please let Callous know.

MrShine you should talk to Jeff, he's our most experienced map maker, he's already popped out a few. I highly encourage you guys to give your shot at making a sweet map to put into the rotation  :D

And, yes, we do plan on getting it connected cRPG eventually. As to when that happens, well, that's completely up to chadz and the crew.

further update on the server progress.

stats and gold may not be saved to the crpg server but our server DOES pull all your equipment off it so you may use it. upkeep costs show up in game but DO NOT COUNT and your overall bankroll will NOT change.

as sittingbull stated, jeff is our residential map expert and has already proven his skill with our current duel map. any map related queries should be sent to him.

administrator priviledges will be dished out to high ranking officials as the council sees fit. i have given access to the barons and sittingbull and thats it for now. our server will not be a "troll" server and we will meet the requirements set forth by chadz and meow whenever they release that criteria. after our server settings are approved our address will be whitelisted and stats/gold will be saved.

the reason for this waiting period is to ensure that server settings are not taken advantage of as when defend the village was first released and people were making 100k gold per day. this is perfectly reasonable and the blackrose server will meet all requirements set forth. in the meantime, our server will be used for clan training and scrimmages.

Stats/Gold/XP are now saved and updated continually. Maps are set to siege to help take the load off the one and only NA siege server. so far a 6 map rotation soon to add more. check it out!

voteban has been disabled since the start and i have been considering disabling votekick but as it hasnt turned into an issue yet i will keep it for the time being. if it does become an issue either pm me or send me an email at [email protected]

Hey, so I'm at a work conference and don't know if this got fixed, but Jeff helped add a map that I made over the weekend and before I left I noticed that it was set up for DTV for some reason.  It was a plains map with a river in the middle and a village surrounded by the river like a moat in the corner.

So yeah... if that's still set up as DTV right now I remember spawns were fucked up.  It was supposed to be a battle map, so I don't know if that will help fix it or whatever.

Either way do with it as you wish!

Also, I saw last week that our banner update was rejected in the recent banner thread. The response:

"I hate to be a dick, but could you perhaps make the images blend a little more to look like a banner?

It's not really required, but I'm reluctant to include it because I feel you can do better than that."


Is someone already working on updating this, or are we currently at a standstill.  I could give it a whirl if no one else is able to, but be warned my art skillz can be volatile!

As per our banner, yeah it got rejected. Callous was going to work on it but he has been pretty busy lately with managing to server, so if anyone else feels they can take a crack at it and make it look less 'airbrushed', by all means.

Anyway, good to be back. Grats on all the guys who participated in the scrim with Tsardom, I've seen some footage of the fight thus far, and I can tell you all were having a blast. I'm really going to strive and get some more scrims for us. You all fought well, were organized and calm on TeamSpeak. I'm really very happy with the results of the scrim, even if the event was cut short from complications as I've heard.

Hey dudes and dudettes Passion.

I'm going to be gone for a week starting this Friday for vacation.  So from the 15th -> 22nd I won't be around for stuff (right when old strat comes back too :( )

I also might have to leave early if our scrim is at 9 Est on Thursday... I'd have to leave a little after 10 Est. We'll be packing as well so fingers crossed I can make it at all... after the vacation I should be a bit more free again.

Make sure to keep Rodrick and Tom Cruise in line while I'm gone!

For people w/ 9-5 type jobs NA primetime = 1 - 6 AM for EU, while EU primetime = 11 AM - 4 PM NA. 

Much more advantageous for NA players, but not something that can really be helped.  Obviously people are going to attack around their timezone's most popular times for a bigger turnout.

Hey guys,

So I've been thinking about stuff at work again. 

1) We desperately need to schedule a clan event.  There's been a mix of new/interested players around recently, and I don't think there has been a recent opportunity to gauge skill/maturity level or to really get more practice as a squad going.

I should be available almost the entire weekend and would be happy to help coordinate some of this.  I was thinking we could work on some group tactic type stuff: ie have teams of 3v3 or 5v5 based on the knight/baron squire/page system battle each other to get some practice playing with each other (and of course gain bragging rights!).  Then perhaps we could have a larger battle with two captains picking complete teams and practicing with giving direction in battle and working with people etc. 

Morr I remember you talking about some ideas as well.  If you see this do you have other stuff you were interested in trying out?

2) Perhaps council could get together and talk about the roster at this time as well? I know that with people leaving the clan/being inactive/being promoted we seem pretty thin in the knight department and perhaps it could be a good time to look at possible promotions for some people in the clan, or maybe removal of others on the roster based on being inactive for a long time without notice.

I wanted to get this idea rolling because I know clan events are usually a lot of fun and it might help bring everyone together at the same time.

What do people think about this Saturday from 8PM - 10 or 11 PM Eastern Time (August 20th)? I figure we'd be able to disconnect from c-rpg temporarily so that we can lock our server for a bit. 

I'll bring this up tonight when I'm on TS.
