How does upkeep work on all equipment types?
-
bumparooni
-
Because all equipment cost money and can be used in battle / siege.
-
No I mean how does it calculate repair chance

There's a 4% chance of an item breaking each tick. Every item has it's own separate chance, and arrows have an increased chance to break, last I heard, 8%. Having little wpf in the weapon you are using increases the repair chance.

Thanks!

Just to add, for melee weapons your highest melee WPF will count for repair chance for any melee weapon regardless of type. So if you have 120 in polearm you can use 1 handers with the same repair chance as if it were a polearm. Ranged weapons count separately

Nice, I thought you had to have proficiency in the weapon type you spawned with to lower the repair chance...but now I think I have heard what grumbs said before too.

Wrong, melee weapons are one category for the extra breakchance thingy. The highest melee skill is picked in the script when checking for breakage.

So, this entire time I could've been using weapons I have no weapon proficiency in with only the normal penalties and without having to worry about upkeep?
... Well, time to get back to it.
-
yep that did that because of certain weapon that have secondary mode.
Perfect example is the longsword which can be used as 1h/2h/polearm.
