Title: Ban Snufalumy old friendus_Astralis and Viuxcrotter for Poll abusing
Post by: Spook Island on August 20, 2012, 10:11:53 am: There is also admin incompetence involved for NA Administrators Hospitaller_Spaniard and Sticky (who I've never seen before)

For the better part of an hour, I'm playing siege, winning games, and styling on players; Vieuxcrotter and Negga particularly.
Soon later, one of Negga's clan members (Bootieshot) starts actively tw'ing me intentionally (there will be another thread for this).

Hospitaller_Spaniard is here for a large part of this and witnesses him admitting that I deserve the TW's. (Evidence will be shown for this in the other thread) So yeah, he admits he's doing it right in front of Spaniard to see.

I know Spaniard is an Admin so I start getting on his case for like 10 minutes about doing his job (which he never does).
As the game we're in ends, Spaniard abruptly leaves, but there's also another admin here I've never seen before named Sticky.

Map changes, shortly thereafter Snufalumy old friendus_Astralis puts forward a poll kick toward me for no reason other than "morbid curiosity" as shown here.
Also, Sticky apparently thinks that polling someone out of "morbid curiosity" isn't poll abuse. Or at least "meh, not really."

So I got polled out of nowhere by Snufalumy old friendis_Astralis out of "morbid curiosity." Poll passes , I get kicked.

As I get back, Viexcrotter immediately launches another Poll kick against me as shown here.

So I see Sticky soon after turn off polls as soon as I get back. He takes no other action for time being.
I realize Sticky is an admin and start asking him if he's going to actually do anything about the people who just blatantly abused the poll system while he was there. As I'm doing this, Spaniard rejoins the game after an apparent "Crash." Spaniard was not there to witness the poll abuse as admitted here in this screenshot.

So Spaniard is back, and I'm on both Sticky and Spaniard about doing their job.

Eventually, I tell Sticky to do his job or I'm going to report him for admin incompetence on the forum with the photos I've taken.
Finally he does something, and kicks only Viexcrotter, stating that Snufalumy old friendus's "curiosity" poll wasn't abuse.

Naturally, I stay on his case about doing something about Snufalumy old friendus (who hasn't been punished or addressed in any way by admins) but he continues to do nothing.
So finally Spaniard speaks up and despite not being there for either poll as evident in previous posts, says I wouldn't have been polled if I wasn't "irritating."
He then goes on to imply that the Poll was justified because the community decided such. Essentially he's implicitly stating that Mob rule always justifies whatever call is made.

So there you have it.

Two cases of poll abuse.
Two cases of gross admin incompetency.

I have other screenshots of the debacle, but these are damning enough by themselves. I encourage real admins to check the logs to corroborate everything I've said here.

I still have to report Bootieshot for intentional TW'ing and leave feedback for both Sticky and Spaniard for their gross incompetence at their job duties. Thankfully, screenshots don't lie as I do not expect people to take my word for it. I may not be well liked by everyone on the community but I definitely do not lay down for players who proudly and brazenly abuse the system and the Admins who refuse to do their job out of personal spite or just plain incompetence at the job they volunteered for.

As soon as I join it shows bootie getting reported for his 4th or 5th tw or something along those lines. Obviously I was not in the server to witness him twing Spook thus took no action.

Spook asks me if he should report this on the forums to which i reply yes he should and that I did not witness them. While spook complains and demands we ban him this player for intentional twing Sticky kicks Bootie from the server. Spook either fails to see this or is not satisfied that we have handled the problem and continues to berate us for our "incompetence".

Map change my game crashes i lose an x3 and am forced to rejoin. This time I come back and spook is immediately kicked from the server by a poll of 67% or close to that. In admin chat I talk to sticky about this who was around for that I assume and he tells me that this is his second time being polled and that it was poll abuse and I was unaware of even who had placed the poll on spook. But veux was kicked for his offense and will be watched for further violations.

And to be honest spook, I am right how often do polls go through on a server with that many people? Very rarely do I ever see a poll go through and when they do its usually because that person is being a problem or is ruining their gaming. Is it right of them to gang up on you and poll you multiple times, not at all but you must be doing something wrong for that to even happen or become a problem. And looking into your ban history you have 7 and 2 of the recent ones are for chat abuse.....hmm oh and my favorite is that your most recent ban was for poll abuse. Funny how those things happen, right.

As for the actual ban request, I will wait for the logs to come up unless the admin who is sticky makes a decision on this as they witnessed it and I did not.

Other administrators should check the log when it is released to confirm this as a fact. The only thing I ever saw happen to Bootie was him getting muted. By that team he had stopped tw'ing me as he knew admins were finally there. Like or not, 4+ intentional TW's deserves more than just a mere kick. I've seen admins ban people for 2 days for less than half of what he had done.

And no, you are very definitely wrong about mob rule making things right regardless. If mob rule made everything right, nobody would ever get banned for poll kicking an archer or X bow cav that was drawing the game out by 3 extra minutes. Unfortunately for your case, people do get banned for such polls, even when they pass.
Would you like me to find you an example of such a ban on players who had done such a thing? I can find one pretty easily. It happened to me once so it won't take much effort at all.

Furthermore, there are multiple instances of proof where Snuf literally admits he did it out of "curiosity." I've posted pics of this in this thread if you missed them. That is a frivolous ban if I've ever seen one and I think anyone with common sense would say the exact same thing.
The only reason you haven't is because you're pretty blatantly trying to cover your own ass for admin incompetence.

And no, you can't hide behind my history to make things any better for you. Not when I've clearly laid out real, actual, overwhelming evidence against you and can continue to do so to refute your points.
Screenshots do not lie and all the ad hominem in the world won't help your case compared to the plethora of proof I've laid out.

Also:
I do not want you to handle this. You had more than your fair of chances and completely bumbled it every step of the way.
Let an admin who knows what he is doing handle this. Not you or one of your friends.

When peoples of the community are tired of his bullshit they call poll vote and the community vote yes to kick him out several times in a row cause he is obviously a problem in the server but a legit player calling a vote get kicked and lose his multiplier.

Ohh and spook good job pulling screenshot that are over 6months old after you pretended to die in a car accident because you keep getting kick out of the server by the community, and tried to make a nice story to get some compassion from the community to stop getting kick off the server.

And the other "confession" shows his lack of remorse which is true enough something I could have taken action upon but i missed seeing it while defending the flag or replying to you in chat. And I also told you that I would handle any ban request of bootie you posted with evidence because I was not in the server to see him intentionally team wound you. And i stated this in the nice pretty pink letters!

I may insult people from time to time (it's not like I'm not actively insulted in return), but I don't use racism. I don't intentionally TW people out of spite (something you could learn from). And I don't abuse the polling system to try and get back at someone for killing me over and over.

Legit players don't poll abuse. They don't snidely try to sabotage their allies by hugging them from behind with a shield, attempting to block their swings, or flagrantly hitting them just because they are mad they got beat in a few 1 on 1 confrontations repeatedly. I didn't make any story. I showed screenshots and plenty of them. That and I welcome all administrators to openly look at the logs when they become available.

1. There were two confessions. Not just one. But, Apparently I have to go through the long, tedious process of creating a ban thread to get you to do something when the guy blatantly shows guilt for the entire game to see. But you say you didn't see it.

Do you really think I wouldn't have mentioned anything in game multiple times after the guy admitted to doing it? DO you think I would just take a picture of that so I knew I'd have to make the ban thread instead of pointing it out multiple times in chat?
So this "I didn't see it" excuse really isn't going to fly. The log will show that much.

The problem with admins is that too many of them are friends. It's nice having friends who will look the other way and help cover for you in areas of authority. It's the same reason police departments have internal affairs units to curb corruption and dirty politics.

But don't take my word for it. Look how fast that other topic got locked after your initial and only response to it before anything could be said in refutation. In the middle of the night on a Sunday evening no less.

You already told me it wasn't you who did it.

Mob Rule doesn't make right. That's what you and Spaniard apparently never learned through many years of public education and reflection on society.
That is why society has moved away from lynch mobs and toward government courts, systems of law and regulation, etc..

I think it's pretty obvious by your posts and behavior that you are a very hostile and angry person who is just out to do damage by any means necessary.

So, Here's what happened. I joined the server, after being in for a minute or so I saw bootie walk up and blatantly TW (but not kill) spookisland. You M'd him but didn't retaliate (good on you!), and I immediately kicked him.

Justice done swiftly and appropriately
You completely missed it happen because you were so busy typing angrily at everyone. He rejoined the server quickly and went right back to bickering with you. There was a clear feud going on between spook and many others in the server, with bootie taking it from words to TWs. But griefing on both sides.

I sat and observed for a while to grasp the situation as I played. The first Kickpoll went up for you a while later (valid by my judgement, it was in response to the nonstop chat trolling that had been going on WAY before I joined, stemming from something you did to provoke the entire server) Which passed resoundingly. It Wasn't a rage poll.

The second one, which went up a minute after spook rejoined the server by Vieux WAS baseless. He had just been kicked. He hadn't done anything wrong when he rejoined except start talking about how he was going to get them banned for polling against him.
It passed even though I disabled polls as soon as the poll went up. I kicked vieux from the server for kickpolling spook without a valid reason.

Again, justice

Honestly, I thought that would settle everything. There was justice on both sides. So many times I nearly muted everyone involved, but I decided not to (probably should have). There was fighting and trolling for the SAKE of fighting and trolling.
People were kicked, justice was done, nobody had to be banned, everyone had a good time later and was playing! The drama ended after that map!
