If theresss going to be some conficts in the world in future I thibnk they are goin to be USA and Iran. Libya wil join Irans side with Pakistan so they probably will win. Althouigh USA has also many allies. like France. So on the secind though USA will win. It depends much on what CHiina wiill do. Russia doesnt matter, they are geetting old. Afganisthan and Irqa has been sent back to stone age, so they throw stoneds. Conspiracy theories I dont like but Israel will take the control withelp of USA. I t doesnt matter though because they mean only good. I would hope that Sweeden would be the controllew of World, because Swedden is ultimate best country (meatballs etc). There are also other countriess I havent mentioned. I think they doesntr matter. The newest counrtry in the world is shoutern Sudan. Have they some kind of goverment already? I thinh they shoulld concentrate on developing atomic bombs. Lots of money they would get. You might have notice I havent mentioned North Korea. the reason iss i dont like it. dicatators suck. But whoever country controls the world people just continue eating and drinking, if theres no famine

Wet Dream. First the countries that have the oil need to keep selling it to finance themselves. They are the very last ones who will restrict it. Secondly the USA has 200 years (at present consumption) supply of petroleum in oil shales plus huge natural gas reserves. It's expensive to extract the oil from the shale but certainly doable.

That's at normal consumption. In an emergency consumption would be clearly cut. So that 36 days would be longer. That and the oil from the oil sands from our friends to the north and the potential of the oil shale should keep the fires burning a while.

This, combined with private sector inventory protection, is estimated to equal 115 days of imports. However, the maximum total withdrawal capability from the SPR is only 4.4 million barrels (700,000 m3) per day, making it a 160 + day supply [Not counting the private sector]. Though again, it is not counting the natural oil reserves nor current native active sources, and merely what we have in storage on-demand.
All in all, not bad, not great but not bad and certainly better then most. However, in today's economy, denying any major world power, especially the oil-guzzling USA, any and all Oil Imports would create a global shockwave of economic insecurity via direct impact and secondary trade embargoes which would pretty much screw up other world powers. Everyone's imports and exports are too closely tied anymore to make major powers warring with each other a practical option, which is part of the reason why major powers nowadays merely yell at each other and slap wrists.

Our economies are not robust enough to deal with oil production cut in half or worse. Economic chain reactions would propel us back in time some 100-200 years in best case scenarios.

36 days of continued normal usage and distribution among the civilians. I'm not sure what that would translate over to for military use only, however I'm sure it's greater then a few years.
