Not sure if this is what you're talking about but try turning into your swings.  That increases your speed bonus to dmg and will make you connect sooner.

Its how people with "slow weapons" make them not so slow afterall...

Instant hits - where the windup (chamber) animation doesn't play - are just the result of lag.

1h left swing, polearm right swing, and both 2h sideswing directions can pull off this "hiltslash". Keep your opponent just off the shoulder you are swinging from, look up or down slightly (not necessary with the polearm animation), and turn rapidly into your swing. You can do full damage very early in the swing animation.

For the record, I think hiltslash is dumb, for the sole reason that it makes fights look like a ridiculous squaredance instead of an epic swordfight. I don't think medieval knights were spinning around trying to keep their enemies on their hip.

Turning into swings doesn't effect speed bonus.

Very informative THX.
If turning into swing doesn't affect hit speed , then why ppl spin around or move mouse right ,left( on thrust weps) isnt it speeding it up?

Turning into your swings will affect the speed at which your attack connects,(attack seemingly faster due to your attack needing less time to travel and hit your opponent/target) it however will not grant you any additional damage in the form of speed bonus.

And the more Power Strike the less bouncing off in early/late attack animation (still bounces in ultra early/late animation though).  Thus making hiltslash even more effective with weapons that wouldnt work this way.
