Alright, to start off, I don't want to think it's a "make my game easier" thread. More like a "make the game funnier" thread.

So, when playing the siege as defender, it's a really cool thing to be some kind of engineer. To set up siege shields (thank God they repair for 183 gold), construction sites, and build weapon racks, maybe healing tents.
It's all cool and possible, but it's really a pain in ass to pay THAT high repairs for construction site and materials. Come on, 2600 to repair a const. site? You go bankrupt in no time. Even milanese plate costs less to repair. And 400 for materials... Everything's fine until 4 of them repair at once, giving you a result of 1600.

Those repairs scare off people who want to have some engineering fun. My suggestion is to make the rapairs lower ( const. site 500 gold and mats 100 gold each)

Why?

1. More tactics on siege server
2. Provides alot of fun
3. Engineering things are throwables, so they repair every time for casual people ( 2600 + mats every round? come on... )
4. More teamwork
5. A good start to add more things to engineering
6. Noobs - friendly
7. I want it

Alright, now you can comment, but only good comments please, no criticism, no disagreeing. Just rape the "+" button and admit it's awesome idea  :D

When I first read it i thought you meant allow the use of construction materials to damage built stuff, which I think would be great.

About the actual suggestion, while it would surely encourage their use, it would mean the reappearance of construction stuff spam. It is not good at all to have ladders blocked by construction sites (especially in vertical maps with few entry points), and there are not even close to enough admins to enforce this rule at the moment in siege servers. (pretty old issue, for more info and ask for solutions please visit karasu's thread (http://forum.meleegaming.com/suggestions-corner/(eu-siege-mode)-recruit-admin(s)-to-siege-mode-servers/))
So I would be against it, since after all, in 6 minute long rounds, there is no real time for any of these things to actually become useful...

usage of consites like that is bannable. Its possible atm, and happens rarely. Dont think it will be a massive problem, consite abuse.

Still not convinced:
Just lowering consite hp will prevent abuse and still allow crafting this way.

Not their usage, but their spamming, that is, more than one in a certain place (unless it is  something like a wide double gate, then one in each should be allowed imo)

It is not a problem now, but it was before they gave it high repairs.
Also reducing their health would harm them a lot in strat, where they actually become useful, so I dont think it is a good idea.

The solution is easy, but I'm not sure if that easy to script/program.
Make weapon racks impossible to renew construction sites.
This way everyone will have to spawn with one. Defenders spawn every 30 seconds.

Additionally, you can make their health a little bit lower, so that they're easier to destroy.

PS: The c-site should have less health. They shouldn't be that hard to destroy. I would rather have a buildable, strong, barricade than using the c-sites themselves as barricades.

If you're a real engineer, you'd have 7 wm with full throwing.
Then you'll care less about repairs.

The point is - why'd I like to play as engineer only, as I am having no profits out of it.
If you're an archer, you have to build the weapon rack yourself, because no one cares about you.

Being a dedicated engineer has teamwork purposes only. It's not so fun, when you cannot use the rack yourself.

(eventually you can be engineer-thrower)
