All weapons should be able to break block to some extent.
All weapons. Weight & damage type should be included in the calculation of percentage chance and damage penalty. The chance however should be overall pretty low.
Why?
It will speed up battle and add another element to combat.
Weapons can be much slower and still effective
It increases the benefit of shields
Weapons can have lower damage and still be effective
Armour will be more important
Reduces the number of knockdown weapons (weapons dont need both knockdown and break block) It is fairer for less skilled players and makes combat more realistic
It amplifies the pro's and con's of weapons (2H cause break block but dont stop it attack over defence)
Reducing the frustration while not detracting from the team work or core experience of the game.

I thought only noobs can be spammed in cRPG.
Anyway, the suggestion sounds interesting. It's too drastic, so I doubt it would ever be implemented, but interesting nonetheless.

Perhaps in duels, in battle it's a different matter. And even in a duel situation, if this is implemented, what would happen in a case where 2 very good blockers fight each other? The one who gets the most swings in will win - which means more spam to win.

Still. Also RNG = bad. We have enough random in the damage calculation anyway.

Have you ever fought a really good player say kadeth, sudan or yed as peasents. It is enraging.
Secondly sometimes aggression is the key slower weapons would be the ones with the higher chance of break block so the faster lighter weapons more likely to get the most hits would have a higher penalty in regards to chance to break block and damage reduction through a block. Fair if the mathematics works out.
Spam has no relevance unless you let people with heavier slower weapons hit you more than you hit them (a lot more due to very low break block chance). The absence of knockdown on these weapons will give you more time on your feet fighting in ganks anyway.

If you refer to the fact that it is annoying that a peasant blocks your big ass axe or bar mace or whatever you are wielding with a stick (A FUCKIN WOODEN STICK!!!!) - yes this is really annoying.
Maybe a shield-like HP system could be converted to wooden weapons, cuz its very very very annoying if a peasant who is good at blocking can block for 5 minutes with a inferior weapon such as a wooden stick (A FUCKIN WOODEN STICK GODDAMMIT!!!)
Affected weapons could be Staff, Practice Sword, Stick and maybe Cudgel, the really low lvl weapons.
Maybe not, probably this will never be implemented. Anyway, my 2 cents.

i have thought about destructible weapons but i dont like it.
if someone has a way of preventing my idea biasing str builds too heavily i would be interested.
The purpose of this idea is to make cRPG more fun, more casual, and more fair without slowing it down any more. already the worst players are keeping up with the good ones and the very best are untouchable.
