hey, someone who actually knows please,
i notice that each team gets a number for the autobalance, how is this number calculated please ?
is there an algorhythm anywhere showing us ? (so i can exploit it to the max)
does the score comprise of KDR overall, KDR in the current game, value of equipment, level, etc ?
-
how does autobalance work ?
It doesnt.
-
i think that's rubbish, autobalance on the whole does seem to work.
besides that, that's not actually what i was asking ... what's the algorhythm pls :)
-
I don't know the algorithm, but I think the variables for a players "rating" were Kills and Deaths (now score, probably), total equipment value and character level.
-
Banners seem to play heavily into it AKA it doesn't.

It doesnt.

Amazing. I only read the thread title and that would have been exactly my answer.

well it works not as it should be for sure ^^

9:50 AM <chadz> since like forever, the formula used 0 as the kill counter for every player
9:50 AM <chadz> so increasing death influenced the autobalance
9:50 AM <chadz> but not increasing kills
saw this on IRC 2 days ago when chadz said he'd fixed something in the auto balance, which was it not using the increasing kills.

Im pretty sure autobalance works, but it just does a small part. Problem is that the losing team never changes strategies even when they have lost 3 times in a row, they rely on autobalance to make them win. Occasionally one team gets totally steamrolled no matter what they do but this doesnt happen that often for me, only when cav is being stacked on one team or a good clan is stacked. And sometimes first round can be a roflstomp aswell but autobalance usually kicks in and fixes that after the first round.
As for how autobalance works, I have no idea ^^

Not that this answers the question in any way, but just a word to the naysayers : game does a pretty good job of evening out the overall skill level but can't possibly be held responsible for individual players' lack of will and or capacity to adapt to situations in which running forward senselessly can't work.
Some matches require thought to be won and it's one thing I quite like about this game.
(this being said, system breaks down easily on low player numbers but this is hardly an issue)
