Title: [Tweak Request] Chat Log

Hey come va cmp?

This comes a bit secondary but is it possible to change either the "font/filling" or the background "colour/theme" of the chat log ("L") to something more easy to the eyes? The current one is a bit blurry and confusing:

I tried without the outline, but it's unreadable. Any suggestions are welcome.

Maybe a solid colour background would be easier to see? Plain white backgrounds are especially eye burning, black possibly?

Better. Also, how hard would it be to add some sort of filters/checkboxes, to exclude kills/chat/teamchat/whatever from the log?

Way better. I already use the scoreboard with a plain black color for the same propose.

Well, I clearly prefer the background in parchment.
I will try something more sober and somber.

Is it note_window.dds texture?

Yes, note window. If you like the background you can keep the background, there will be a checkbox in the lower left to turn it on/off.

The problem is the font dark outline. It's perfect for the normal chat, but hurts a bit on the log.

Nitpicking.

It's not like you're looking at chat log all the time. Well, admins do check it often but I see no reason we should make their life easier :D

i'd like much transparency , so i can still have a bit of battle awareness while reading log ...
what i dislike is the overlaying "new" chat lines on the bottom screen , which annoyes me much more than the background color
i find the chatter still readable (as in "sufficient") even in transparent mode

When I say there's nothing under, I mean when the log window is open the battle window is not.
Hiding "new" chat is probably a good idea.

Elio's darker version looks somewhat more pleasant and fits the theme of the general UI.

I'm a making you a few textures so you can choose..

I'll make dds later. Does it need to be to some kind specification other than big enough, say 1920x1080?

btw.. totally no rights over these ones.. pulled straight off google images. But I changed them enough..so probably wont be recognized.

beware i just did some quick tweaks with exposure and contrast.. Will of course make proper quality from whatever is chosen. Also send me an image if you have something in mind. I think its important that its not to sharp and contrasty, so text will stand out well.. Probably it shouldn't be super-black either.

It can be done, but it requires the entire log screen to be recoded. I don't plan to do that for now.

1024 × 1024 only but with high quality. (without JPEG artefacts)

I like this one, because it's darker on the left side (where 99% of the chat is) and has some detail on the right.
