The ceremonies were cool, but the march of the athletes wo sooo long. And nice reminder of that Brits have made lots of awesome music

Im glad you all enjoyed it, I watched bemused that so much money had been wasted on so little, then laughed at Mr Atkinson's part then turned it off, cause it was never going to get any better.

It didnt even come close to China, and that they spent so much money, made allready overworked NHS staff spend 150+ hours rehearsing, putting MORE stress on an already failing medical system, had a deaf drummer who did not stop beating out a slightly offbeat 4/4 the entire time and then had those stupid video bits which worked only for the TV audience and not for the paying spectators was a shambles. The proper thing to do would have been to march out the teams, take the oaths, and call it an early night, saving BILLIONS of pounds, saving face, and generally putting forth a realistic message: We arent going to win very much, we are flat broke, but we built the bloody place and its all working and clean, lets have some sports!

But, you know, that was just me.

EDIT: The Queen's face said it all: "What a stupid waste of time and money"

We spent far less than China and it was actually considerably cheap for an opening ceremony at £27 million. Not billions. Also remember that China's ceremony was built of the backs of $ a day workers. Of course it was never going to equal in scale but it was a fantastic celebration of British culture. And as plenty of people have said you got the feeling with China that it worked so well because if they didn't turn up for rehearsal's they'd be 'disappearing' pretty quickly.

I wouldn't have been to fussed as a paying spectator missing those video bits, although you are wrong, there were screens for the audience hence why you can hear the crowd laughing at the Mr Bean segments. You'd never have seen his facial expressions up in the crowd.

Failing medical system? Lol. The reason the NHS was included was because it's a fantastic achievement and something to be proud of. Free medical care for all. And the NHS is still looking strong, don't read to much into the crap that you read on news sites. There is nothing wrong with the NHS at the moment. That deaf drummer is a national treasure and a highly celebrated musician despite having been deaf since a child.

Either this line is ironic on a whole new level, or you really are a mushroom.

I must admit i just loved some of the music they chose to represent UK.

Rowan Atkinson show was awesome, then again, i always loved his shows, so not really objective there. Chariots of Fire was a great film indeed.

But at the beginning, i was really wondering why the hell there's bloody peasants in the Olympic opening ceremony.

I thought the opening ceremony was great, but Rowan Atkinson totally stole the show on the keyboards :D

Also perhaps now the Americans will stop saying they invented the Internet.

Technically Americans did invent the internet. Internet and world wide web are two different things  :P
