Title: Questions on upkeep and WPF.
Post by: Strider on July 28, 2012, 01:32:04 am
1) What is the percentage that an item will break? (no WPF included)

2) By how much does each WPF point drop the break chance?

3) Does winning/losing or living/dieing increase/decrease your break chance?

4) Is it possible to have enough WPF to insure that your weapon has a 0% likelihood to break?

I need a better understanding on the percentage of repairment because i'm getting alot of gold lost.

I'm not certain of the exact numbers, especially seeing as they changed the formula recently I believe. However, at least to #4 that's not possible. You will never have a 0% likelihood of breakage. Additionally the longer a round lasts, the higher the chance on each tick of something breaking.

As long as you have 100+ wpf and your gear is around 35k you should be making money on average (assuming you aren't an archer that is, as arrows have a vastly higher break chance than other equipment). You will, however, occasionally have bad streaks and lose money with this much gear. If you want to constantly make money, then 20-25k is a good place to be at. As a general rule of thumb try and keep ~20k saved up at all times for when you hit a bad streak.

A lot of this also depends on your multi of course. If you're rolling x5 all day you can afford far more gear than if you're sitting on x1.

So if it is 4% a minute then would 4 minutes be 16% chance.

So whats the break chance then? I thought it was around 13%.

Quote
For every item you spawn with, you may need to pay upkeep to repair the item at the end of round.
There is a 4% chance each minute that an item will become damaged and need repairs
Upkeep cost is 7% of the item's original purchase price
Dropping equipment SHOULD reduce your chance of having to repair an item.

Yep these is the last number we got from the dev, and arrows are at 8% chance of breaking.

About WPF/upkeep I don't think any dev posted numbers for that.
