Post by: Chris_P_Bacon on July 27, 2012, 09:00:52 pm
Submit names! Please include the name you want to appear, and your state/province. Also, please include your favorite type of sandwich and a reason you believe you are the best.
By the way, until there are multiple people for one state, I'm just putting the first name I get up. If there is competition, I will hold a vote.
Please vote for only one person from each state.

I am the best sandwich maker in Illinois.
I'M NOT A WOMAN SANDWICH MAKER I'M A SANDWICH-SMITH.

All sandwiches get a generous amount of toppings and sauces, as well as a mattress of meat©.

Not a sheet of meat...that's too thin.  Not a heap of meat...that just makes the whole sandwich unbalanced and awkward.  It has to be a mattress of meat©.

Give me your address I'll mail you one in an unassuming brown paper bag.  You pay postage.

Alamaba here. Honey wheat bread. Turkey. Gruyere imported cheese. Mayo, some spicey brown mustard. Put that shit in a panini cooker. In a few minutes you'll have sandwich perfection. Add some boar's head hickory smoked thick sliced bacon to that shit if you don't give a fuck about having a heart attack.

IF ANYONE, ESPECIALLY THAT MOTHER FUCKER LIFE, THINKS THEY CAN MAKE A BETTER SANDWICH THAN ME, I WILL MEET THEM IN THE SANDWICH COOK OFF SERVER

I make the best sandwich in NA (my name even sounds like a type of cheese), but I'm not in some state.  Change your post to Best American etc etc, or add the 'state/province', you nationalist swine.

Man, you have not lived until you've had one of my ungodly sloppy delicious roast beef sammiches...

First, the beef is crock-potted to heavenly roast perfection, and then seared in the oven...
Meanwhile, the brown gravy is stirred and brewed to thick, juicy, runny-ness delight.
Slice off some hefty beef slabs n' lay 'em ceremoniously upon a bed of fresh, lightly toasted deli baguette bread (toasted on the outside, soft on the inside!)
Layered on top of that is some luscious green lettuce with juicy ripe tomato slices, and a few dill pickle slices.
Make sure the top and bottom halves of bread are slathered well with kraft peppercorn + olive oil mayo...
Then drench the whole insides with generous and copious amounts of scrumptious brown gravy.

Pick this monstrous creation of glory and beauty up if you can, and enjoy all of it's yummy goodness while the juices run all the way down to your elbows and onto the floor!

Clean up the next day because you won't be able to do anything after you eat it.

Oh yeah, come down to Louisiana and gimme a call if you want one of those.

This is for British Columbia:

Step 1:  Drink 16 pints of beer at your favourite pub- preferably one with a few hotties kicking around.
Step 2:  Stagger home, seeing as the hotties left after your 14th pint cuz you got so annoying.
Step 3:  Find bread, dump whatever you have that's 'sandwich-ish' on it.
Step 4:  Load lots and lots of cheese* on it then grill it.
Step 5:  Pass out on the couch with globs of melted cheese on your shirt and a big grin on your face.

This is the absolute best sandwich ever!  No matter what you happen to have in your fridge, as long as you don't skip step one you will truly believe that the sandwich is the best damn thing ever made in the history of everything.

*I prefer a mild Bryggan, but it's hard to find in stores.

PS. and thanks for considering the feelings of all five of us Canadians on this forum.

Electing self for Alberta. Sandwich smithing is a way of life! I feel bad for people who wallow in the plain bread with ham and mustard abyss. Creating an enjoyable sandwich is as easy as getting some decent bread with character, and some more interesting fillings. Don't rely on pre cut meat for sandwiches either! Use that leftover roasted chicken with some lettuce and tomato, or that roast beef with some horseradish on a buttery toasted baguette. I feel I should be elected for Alberta as my love for the eternal sandwich burns bright. And a nice and simple sandwich for you:

This works great on anything, I had this on a ciabatta style baguette last, and boy was it good. Hopefully you like salami, if you don't, get the fuck out. Gypsy salami is my favourite, you can use wine, Hungarian, garlic, doesn't matter. Put a little mayo on one of the sides of bread, load on your salami of choice, and also add some turkey breast, some nice plain smoked turkey preferably, having a different texture in there apart from the salami is nice, and gives the sandwich some size. Next is the cheese, very important, the best choice (in my opinion) for this is some havarti, better yet jalapeño havarti. Now then, with the cheese over the turkey on one side and the salami chillin on the other side, put the shit on the grill, or under the broiler in the oven (face up obv) for a couple mins. Get that cheese melted all over and the salami looking extra greasy and delicious. The last step involves taking it out, and then adding some nice slices of tomato, and if you want, crack some black pepper on those bitches. Good tomato, not gross flavourless softball size tomatoes, a good ripe compari is best, something the size of a golf ball will almost always have way more flavour.

Anyway, best served with beer. Cheese can easily be substituted for cheddar or whatever else really. If you don't like mayo, try it anyway, mayo always goes well with tomato, I dunno if it cuts the acidity or something, but imagine a BLT with no mayo, no way.
