Title: [Bug] Some trees (palms) are rippling
Post by: DaveUKR on July 27, 2012, 01:27:40 am
I think that it's an old known Native bug. Some trees like plams are rippling while you're moving changing their colours (like if one leaf was enlighten by the sun and the other was in the shadow and when you move it looks like a disco).

HDR mode was off. Needs further testing.

I think this is related to the flora shader, so there's not much I can do about it (my shader knowledge allows me to do some basic cut and paste at best).

All lod stages of the palm tree are using the same material and shader as the base mesh.

So I think changing something on the shader wouldnt do anything.
It seems to be a problem with the graphics driver, if this also happens without the new launcher.

It's not about using a different shader, it's about the flora "degrading" system that the game uses (implemented via shaders).
