Title: Advert on the crpg page gave me a virus

Something strange started happening to my PC after accidentally clicking on an advert which was on the side of the page. Browser started acting slow, thought nothing of it and carried on playing, then suddenly my PC logged me off the user. I log back in and my screen is taken up by a 404 internet explorer page and doesn't let me view anything else, couldn't even bring up task bar. Luckily I had a restore point and everything is back to normal. This happened only after clicking the advert.

Some of these ads are funny.  This one made me laugh, seeing as these are forums for a medieval warfare game:

This. I use adblock, I don't see ads.

You should not click ads anyways. I haven't had an antivirus program in over 5 years and never had a virus or anything...use smart web browsing.

Greed? We're paying a fat NA and a fat EU server, and webhosting on top. Since google ads kicked us out we have nearly zero money coming in. So if we find no suitable replacement soon, this might mean bad news for cRPG.

Why are you clicking on advertisements anyways?  If you REALLLLY wanted to click on an ad, you're better off just googling for it instead.

Also there's quite a few free AV programs out there...browse safely my friends.

Or to invent donate system, maybe with minimal advantages (or even not advantages, but unique ornamentals for armor or cloaks, titles and so on) ?

I get adverts for condominiums in Florida and Disney World Vacations. Try improving the quality of your searches and you may improve the quality of your ads. Quit searching for pr0n and hacks!

i deleted all my partitions and installed new win 7 system. When i first opened crpg there was a pop up ad across the whole screen to join travian.
I wanted to smash my pc.
good thing is that it is stopped showing after the first time.

Also, I turned off Adblock, if it can help I can bear some adverts on my alts page.

If you do the lottery every week like you promised then maybe more people will be encouraged to donate.

Well, I believed that too untill they all became "Mature Dating" site ads...now, I search pretty liberally on the net, but im sure Ive never shown interest in that field.

You need to make some skins for armor/weapon/horse and sell these for euros, learn from other free2p games (unless Talesworld forbid that).

Its not legal to charge money for anything you do by modding a game (unless you have permission of the game's rights-holder) Therefore you can only depend on donations. (ofc if you make a site/ forum you can use ads, since they are yours, unlike the game you modded)
