I'm a bit bored at work so I thought I'd share an experience I had some time ago.
I was visiting a small town awhile back. It was getting dark and I was walking the streets alone when I heard screaming. I followed the sound and as I turned around a corner I saw someone beating a woman with his fists. I got a bit angry seeing this helpless woman getting beaten so I ran to her aid. I told the guy to stop and he replied something in a language I couldn't understand and then continued. Again I told him to stop but now he just ignored me. The woman remained silent and just watched the man with glazed eyes. I was the same height and build as the man so I decided to intervene.
I stopped him when he was just about to hit the woman. He tried to hit her again but again I blocked his hand. Then he turned to me and tried to punch me. His fist hit me right in the nose but I didn't really feel pain. Now I was really getting angry and tried to hit him back but he blocked my strike. I haven't really boxed but neither had he, judged by his performance.
I don't know their relationship was like, or if they even had one, but the woman didn't move when we started fighting. Maybe she was frozen in fear. I exchanged many punches with the man. His strikes were pretty weak and I hardly noticed them when he got past my block. The fight ended when my right uppercut connected to his jaw and he dropped to the ground.
I looked at him lying on the ground for a while. As I turned around I saw group of people gathering around the woman and watching me intensely. I tried to explain myself to them but they didn't seem to understand me. I couldn't understand their language either and the woman stayed silent and wouldn't even look at me. They apparently came to their conclusion and the next thing I know I was banned. Great.
Edit: Moral of the story: don't play dtv with people who don't speak English.
