Probably shouldn't use an adblocker, since ads help support cRPG.

I may be wrong but I always thought ads are still happy when the page is hit, and that the adblock just hides the ads?

Did you try pressing the "Schließen" button on the top right?
Just wondering cause sometimes opening your eyes helps a lot.

Altough I agree that intrusive ads like that suck bigtime, I sometimes have the feeling a lot of people don't get how important ads are for a lot of websites.

If you use ad-blockers, disable them on pages you wanna support.

Also as someone said, donating will disable the ads completely, didn't know that myself until I donated

Surely having an adblocker means nothing? cRPG still has adverts on them. I just can't see them, it makes no difference. It's not like it lowers the amount of money you get for the X amount of people who use adblockers?

There are ads?

I *think* that adblock prevents the ads from actually loading, thus the ads don't get "views"?

There is a huge difference between ad-blockers, those that just hide ads and those that actually block them from loading, the latter will actually hurt the website.

Furthermore actual clicks on the ads are way better than plain traffic on the website and yeah, everyone will go "I never click on those anyway" and I'll not argue that but you sure won't ever be interested in anything shown when you can't see it.

This is also not about c-rpg itself but the overall attitude and how a lot of people just ignore the consequences in the long run.

I don't even wanna convince anyone to stop using ad-blockers, just consider unblocking websites you trust for that warm and fuzzy feeling of being helpful in return for the stuff you get from them.

Yes, the ads will be gone after you donated for the first time, this only goes for the main char though.
Not sure that's intended or not.

you are right, but for small connections like mine, the loading of flash may further slow the connection, and the only solution found is adblock.

And even if there is not too much problem on the site except this example, there really are too intrusive and annoying advertising like this on the web.

It even works for alt chars. Just go "donation" and enter the paypal adress again. I never did that though as I didn't care about alts at all.

I think it depends on the type of ads. I remember when I first started using the internet if you didn't have some form of ad blocker you would get random windows opening up of their own accord, obnoxious flashing images, slower websites. So its something some people have learned early on, that its far less hassle to just install an adblocker and forget about it. I think a lot of people wouldn't mind ads in general if they were more subtle or relevant to your interests, while not making sites load slower. Websites need to work with the assumption that people aren't stupid, and will install adblockers if they are too annoying. Not talking about crpg, just mean in general

Next big patch CMP and chadz gonna add ingame ads for McDonalds, Coka Cola, Brazzers and many many more. They will be put at walls, houses and trees and even in the sky.

Never knew ads don't show if you've donated before. All this time I thought my adblocker was just doing its job really well.

pl0x no more full page popup ads ever T_T

Is there any way to get rid of the full page pop-up ads on the forum as well, for donators? They only take about a second to get around, but I'm lazy and uncooperative. I could just adblock the whole site but as Meow pointed out randomely clicking on ads every now and then helps, so I don't wanna do that.
Out of curiosity, do those gigantic pop-up ads pay more than the banner ads? chadz, are you running out of money? D:

so....to support crpg do we need to turn off the ad blocker or not ?

Appart from donations and getting their cuts out of the russian heirloom blackmarket ads are crpg's primary source of money. You wouldn't want chadz's mountain palace to have his caviar fountain running dry do you. And you would just need to disable it for the site, not turn the whole thing off.

Can't say I've ever had a problem with adverts on the C-rpg website. As Chase said, all adverts are gay, and that pleases me.  :D

I hope we can manage to keep layer ads out. No promises at this point, though.
