Title: Dark Knight Rises (no spoilers)

For the background, I did not go into this movie as a fan. It was a hot weekend and I was looking for something to do inside for a few hours in the air conditioning.
I was over Christian Bale.
Not really a fan of Anne Hathaway.
Didn't see how Bane was going to be a great villain.
Kind of over Batman too, but I took my kids to see it.

Well then I watched it.

The story is epic in scope and the telling.
It is an Action movie with plenty of layers of dialogue, social commentary, and character background if you like that stuff, or you can ignore it and enjoy the action. Plenty for the fans.

But the action is where this film shines. I really did walk out feeling like I did after seeing Star Wars for the first time. It was that impressive to me. I'll be following the choreographer after this. A step above everything else. It really was ZOMG wow type shit on the screen.
I'll admit that at some points the action was so intense that it broke the immersion for me. Why? Because my brain kicked off a side thread that was concerned for the actors involved, wondering how they fuck someone did not get hurt or killed making this movie. Plenty of times it felt very realistic, like that shit could be happening out on the streets and you are watching footage of it.

So yes, thumbs up. Go see it, and I HIGHLY recommend that you go see it in IMAX if you can. Over an hour shot in IMAX. I saw it in 2D and am going back next weekend for the IMAX experience.

Someone else interupted me to talk about that shit when I mentioned seeing the movie. I told him I didn't give a fuck about the asshole and to shut the fuck up and go see a great flick.  Dumbass.  :P

Butthurt, honestly, what the fuck is wrong with you, it's very tragic that those people worked hard on a movie which tons of people won't watch in the theater due to that kind of shit scaring them shitless, IMO you owe the batman producer people money for that comment, stop spreading that shit, stop hurting innocent people just 'cuss you're a bitch.

dude the producer makes too much money as it is. If anything he should give money to the victims families because he is a super rich hollywood scum.

Having some retard nutcase go on a shooting spree in a theater isn't going to hurt their profits. I don't wanna sound like a cynical dick (although it is probably way too late for that) but if anything this will give them mucho publicity. $160,887,295 and third highest grossing opening weekend film of all time (just ahead of the Dark Knight) seems pretty fucking healthy to me.

the shooter wasn't a retard, he had a degree in neuroscience. the media called him a college dropout for quitting his phd program.
Although it is despicable what he did, it is also kind of innovative. Imagine if it was the academy awards and celebrities got massacred, that would have been better than killing innocent people.

Celebrities are automatically not innocent people? Maybe the reason he went into neuroscience in the first place was to cure his blatant insanity. Or in the super villain tradition an experiment went horribly wrong and turned him into a nutcase.

Heard that there were three "smaller" incidents.

One guy wanted to kill his boss after the movie, another one yelled in the cinema threatening everybody, etc.

Damn movie is cursed. Or people just want that 15 mins of fame so much..

He's at the age where mental illness is most likely to surface. It's quite possible he was all fine and dandy whilst studying Neuroscience and then something somewhere clicked.
