You can clearly see that the Trident has 3 spikes so I'm asking myself why the fuck does it less damage this should hurt more?
Maybe the admins could change the stats and make it acceptable.
If you come with the argument Trident is a peasant weapon. Listen yes the Trident was a peasant weapon but it was also used for the war in some countries so it wasn't only a peasant weapon but the fork is. Also guys like Poseidon aren't peasants and the indian god shiva.

Some countries might have had a trident expressly made for the purpose of killing and battle. The trident in cRPG was expressly made for fishing.

Gods don't exists (except for Odin ua.)

Btw it even says "Military Fork" and looks more dangerous.

My poseidon exists *.*
well then dont have a look at the name or compare it with the pitch fork here

Pitch Fork
Type:Polearm
Requirement:-
Weight:1.5
Slots:2
Upkeep:8 gold
Shop price:127 gold
Value:64 gold
Speed:90
Length:154
Thrust:23 pierce
Swing:15 blunt

because the trident should be at least better than the pitch fork

Don't only look at the damage but also at other stats:
Trident has 2 less damage, but only half upkeep (even if those 4 gold seem like a joke) and more range. They are very similar, there is actually no reason to buff or nerf either weapon.

Also for that upkeep, they are really the best weapons worth their gold.

Well I wanted to avoid the repair discussion because I don't care about the upkeep it could be more when they at least make the trident better I should have posted this in realism corner but noone has a look there

Oh, is that what those guys are doing when they run off to a far corner of the map next to a lake?

Well then add at least fishs to crpg and you can sell them for gold in the shop

Stabbing three spikes into someone to the same depth compared to two takes 1,5 times the force. Two deep wounds are better than 3 shallow wounds.

True, but 3 spikes are also heavier than 2

Give the trident +.3 weight, +1 swing damage, and bump up the price by 30G.

After all the hay picked up with the trident it has become dull whilst the "military" pitchfork gets sharpened every now and then by the hero who will die by the hand of the peasant with trident which he used to scoop up horse shit the other day.

I think we can add "fishing trident" as hard weapon for war... trident for hay is really crap in pierce cause curve picks...

This is why physics must be taught in school.

yep adding a fishing trident and the "war trident"
fishing will be the current one and adding the war trident with better stats and a better looking wouldnt be that bad
but 2 or 4 directional?

The Trident was made by some poor village smith with cheap metal and its spikes will bent on the first bone it hits. The Military Fork instead was forged on a magical sky forge by a master smith with the best metal that was seen on earth until now. See the difference?

If you would have read the post you would realize that I wrote about the trident that it was also a warrior weapon made for war

IN GAME the "trident" is a crap hay fork...not really a trident !

Real trident must be added in game...

the power of 100 tines is 100 times.

Make a pike with 10 points with 250p damage

*edit* and make them slightly curved, like the trident in crpg.  If its curved it hurts more going into their body.
Title: Re: Trident compared with another weap
Post by: pepejul on July 25, 2012, 01:06:15 pm
but on plate the curve make it bad.... :?

What about a Trident that is like the double sided lance  from it stats? maybe a bit worse  and 2 or 4 directional?

The more points it has the more force you need to push it into something. Always wondered why Indian fakirs sit on brand boards and not on a single nail?

edit :  trident shorter or longer than dble sided  ?

Agree with before : more pics = each pic less damaging...

belongs to this?

Awlpike has only 1 spike but it hurts helluva lot more.

Less spikes = more win because you need less force to penetrate armor.

Think about this also: Why isn't a comb deadliest weapon ever?

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

because it is made of plastic?

Yes, but the trident looks like it's made of Birch tree while the other is made of Ash, which weighs more than Birch.

You missed the point completely. Anyways, here's my take on it:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Trident - 3 curved spikes are ideal for picking stuff from ground, not fighting

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Pitch Fork - 2 curved spikes make it easier to penetrate but its still a tool

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

Military Fork - has 2 straight spikes and has no use as a tool but as a weapon because straight spike will penetrate easier and with less force, not to mention that it will take more force to bend than Pitch Fork or Trident

Yes, but the trident looks like it's made of Birch tree while the other is made of Ash, which weighs more than Birch.

But I made a new suggestion in this Thread and this is mainly about what I'm talking maybe I'll make a new post

Look, let me explain this to you - 3 spikes will hurt less than 2 spikes, especially if they're curved.

IMO drop Tridants damage to 18 and boost it's speed to 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make peasants annoying as fuck.

Can you explain us what you want? Because from you first post: (You can clearly see that the Trident has 3 spikes so I'm asking myself why the fuck does it less damage this should hurt more?)
I understand that you want more damage for Trident?

Formula is simple: less spikes = more damage. (pure physics)

3 pikes make more damage places but each place is less damaged than one pike...

I think it's correct...

Should be the stats of the double sided lance longer maybe same speed but only 2 directional and same price class
