Title: Dropping Board Shield creates Set up Pavise

This is a suggestion from Byzantium_JackieChan but he was too lazy to make a thread himself so he asked me to.

His idea was that when you drop a Board Shield or Heavy Board Shield it would be placed stood up like the picture above. Pavise's were used by Crossbowmen to protect them from arrows whilst they reloaded safely behind it. I don't know how hard it would be to code to do that but I'm sure it'd be easy for the dev team.

The mod Mercenaries had this feature. Here is a screenshot.

i like the idea.
But i beleve they used that in siedge only? I see problem,because crossbowmen don't have crouch option to hide behind shied.

Another thing is that since the board shields take up 2 slots you can't use anything heavier than the normal crossbow with it. Unless you'd go for hammer/pickaxe, but nobody should be that lame :P

The normal board shield only takes 1 slot :)

While they reload the bend over and are covered :P + only your head exposed is better then your complete body :P Think this might add some extra team play to the game. Like siege shields, for some reason players stick around a siege shield, even if they don't hide behind it.


Just a random thing that came to my mind just now, how would they interact with horses? Horse will stop when it hits one like a wall or siege shield? or destroys it, or just knocks it over after which you can set it up again? Or my least favorite: goes through it like a ghost horse :P

It was done in the Mercenaries mod.
