As you might know, we plan on releasing a big client update that will allow us to start changing mechanics and adding new features. As you might also know, we are not very fond of testing. However, deploying something like this untested might have catastrophic consequences, so here we are.

What will I have to do?
Play the game, report anything out of the ordinary, bugs and crashes (more detailed instructions when you apply).

Why should I apply?
The sooner we finish beta testing, the sooner we can start working on the cool stuff. Also, as a reward for partecipating in this test, you will get a colored forum title (!) and free loomsthe eternal gratitude of the cRPG community.

How do I apply?
Just post in this thread. Listing your hardware configuration and your cRPG class (infantry/ranged/cavalry) is encouraged, saying something about you is a plus. PMing me or querying me on IRC will lead to dire consequences.

Requirements
You should be able to run the game in DirectX 9 mode (or willing to give it a try)
You should be able to give constructive feedback
You should be able to refrain from going full retard in game and on the forums
You should be able to keep calm when losing your precious x5 because of a crash


Spamming/flaming too much in this thread may result in nothing, a warning, a mute, a ban or the removal of your account, depending on a dice roll.

I've played this mod for about a year on and off, been through multiple patches and chars... Played cRPG about 1500 hours and regular native Warband another 1200.

/me thinks you should add the "/me" into the game.

Hey,

I am quite interested. I play warband since release and crpg about 2 years, regularly again since december 2011.

My PC usually runs warband fine, but often has some weird lag with mods. However my pc is alright with a 1GB graphic card, a dual core and 8 GB RAM. I'm usually playing on lower graphic details and highest resolution (1680x1024) and DirectX9.

I'm willing to use IRC and TS, besides I'm never raging in chat or TeamSpeak. =)

PS: Also playing on my laptop quite often, 4 GB RAM, 512 MB graphic card (the rest isnt that great), but DirectX9 of course.

I can run the game fine on directx 9 and I can post non retarded shit when the time calls for it and couldn't care less about losing my multi.

I'll probably start accepting applications tomorrow, and testing will open immediately (current beta testers already have access). There won't be a time requirement, although obviously the more the better.
Also, don't feel discouraged if you have weak/old PCs; we want to make sure the software works on all configurations.

A Low-mid end setup. Surprisingly enough, I can still run Skyrim/other high quality games on low...although it gets...hot.

I play this mod since august 2010 and shot about 3 million arrows during this time.

Hi, I'm Jarlek.
I really want to help out with whatever I can and since I can't code, make animations, texture or anything, I want to help out by testing for you.

I've been playing Mount & Blade since the original, although I was a bit late with changing over to warband (so many mods I still hadn't played to death). Been playing cRPG since December before the upkeep-patch came.

I usually run the game in DirectX9 on medium/low settings. I don't go full retard (in public, I can rage in private) and I try to give as constructive feedback as I can when asked for it. While I can be frustrated when losing my x5, I wont go bananas  when I am using a test build to test. Crashing is something that will obviously happen when you are testing and it's better that we check it out and lose our multi, then it being released and everyone crashing and losing multis.

2h lvl 32 balanced build

 Been playing on and off since the old website days and the original proximity multiplier system.  Never had any community issues, etc.  Active member of mapping community and started the Mappers Guild (club really).  Play most every night for a couple hours.  NA.  Also make banners for people here in cRPG community (links in sig to maps and banners).

In RL im a motion graphics designer.

Anyhow specs...

Hello I am Blackzilla_of_Chaos, I have been playing since there were only EU servers (don't know how long ago that was)
 
I would love to be a beta tester and help you fix crpg or add new stuff, whatever it is you are doing. I play this game religiously and will be able to report anything to you. I also do not rage at losing multis due to crashes, since I do  not to get mad at games (which I don't except for when people are being extremely stupid and must be told they are being stupid). I mean you could call me crazy, but I have left on an x5 hundred's of times. MY build is 18/22 level 31 (18/24 when i hit 33) I am a 2h Crossbowmen. Here are my specs, I can play DX 9, but I prefer 7.

It's a laptop, and this is the only game I (can) play.

I am a 1H+Shielder, I tend to test different shields not used in mainstream and focus on footwork. I can help give some feedback in those areas

Hi, I've played for about a year now as a pubbie mostly and I've had no qualms quitting with a x5 as half the time I'm not aware of what sort of multi I'm running. I play fairly regularly which is down from  my practical obsession for the first half of my entire playtime.

My main is almost 33 as a 2h (bastard sword +3) leaning slightly more into agility (21/24) but I've played just about every class type for at least one generation and I've a skip the fun HA.

Basically I bought some slimline P.O.S. HP from Wal-mart and put the only video card that would fit in the thing (it didn't and I jerry-rigged it in). Apparently I'm running about 80 watts under the power supply is supposed to be but I run the game fine on DX9 with varying settings depending on how many people are in the server. Surprisingly some newer games run better though.

Got my warband folder stored on a SSD

I'm just your average danish great sword user (actually only use it 1/3 of the time but nvm) hoping to get a look of what future versions of cRPG are gonna look like. I actually just wanna enjoy the game that's why I don't care too much about my multi (I still do but sitting on a x1 for several rounds is no problem as long as I get to kill stuff and don't lose a high multi because of something that was completly unnecessary).
I'm a lot less biased than many other 2h users who still got to know the early days of cRPG and I have no intention to share any secret informations I'd be provided with.
It would be the first time for beta testing something for me but given the amount of hrs I've spent on M&B and cRPG it would only be fair to let me do it just this once.

Polearm player by far. Have played nearly all classes bar cav.

My computer tends to run games fairly average - even large ones. Obviously no powerhouse laptop. I currently play cRPG on DirectX 7, just to maximize my performance - absolutely willing to try DirectX 9 for the beta.

- Long time, highly active cRPG player - with an inhuman amount of hours logged.
- No previous infractions on the game.
- I don't give a fuck about multipliers.

If nothing else, my laptop will be a good judgement of how the game runs on a lower end to average type PC.

I mostly play melee classes, but I do a lot of hybrid builds. Currently I am Xbow/2h hybrid, but I plan on respec'ing soon to a more versatile class that will enable me to use a horse sometimes, but still a focus on 2h and Xbow. :)

I was engaged to be married this year. We broke up last tuesday at 1AM and she moved out. I was so upset I called in to work. Work got mad I called in over a breakup and put me on leave through the end of this month. Getting in the beta would really cheer me up.

Kind of low tier specs, I tend to play on low settings with dx9 to ensure I get a constant 140 fps.

Currently I have my main as 2h but I mostly play alts. I just respecced my 1h guy from being an archer/1h hybrid but other than that I also have a polearm alt and a cav alt which I have been playing a lot recently.

I'm always up for testing, even though most people don't find it so fun I guess. I'm always in the beta irc channel anyway, so I think I'm conveniently and easily, reachable.

Everything runs smooth on medium-high settings, DX9, and a server with 120 players.

I play a hybrid archer/offensive 1H + shield. I've logged enough hours playing CRPG to validate any requirements there and beyond. I am fluent in English and would like a chance to give something back to the game that has given me so much fun. I can withdraw my posting persona to provide a formal tone for any test reports.

Whether or not I end up getting "in" I am excited for this update. I left the game for a while and it feels like I picked CRPG back up at just the right time.  :)

my cRPG used to run smooth on DirecX 9, but lately my perfomance drops on some maps or when there is to many players wits heavy textured armors  :(

Initially testing will involve just playing the game normally, so it doesn't really matter if you're EU, NA or whatever.

I am Byzantium_Teeth ingame, swashbuckler for a while and probably forever.

I like playing this game and I really want to support development of this mod, as the core gameplay has no equal. So I care enough to dedicate some of my time to report bugs. I gave up retiring and getting looms so don't care much about xp, or gold, or anything besides having fun. I have attention to detail and a very strong opinion concerning most things.

I've been around for ages now and I'd like to see cRPG progress. I'm fine with losing multipliers.. doesn't bother me much. If I spend some time on writing I'll easily have some proper feedback.

I usually play with my horse archer. I am lvl 34 and have over 600k gold so I don't start raging even if I had to play with x1 during the entire test. :) I have still about a month of my summer vacation which allows me to play 24/7. I also have the patience to do long repetitive tests. (e.g. benchmarking).

My class in CRPG is a 1-handed shielder.

Helped in several beta's, would love to help in this one. CRPG is my favorite game and seeing it get better potentially by my own criticism would be the best. I'm a 21 year old college student with hours of time to blow on video games.

Why i should be picked.

I like to cry myself to sleep when i lose an x5, not really, but i felt like being unique here would help mah chances. Plus i can be that guy who screams DEFEND THE TOWER, as soon as the match starts in open field maps and confuse the rest of the team as they look for the tower.

Why do some people lie about specs?

There is no such radeon 7900, that is the series name. Besides, I doubt everyone here has 16gb ram and a top notch 4  core processor like the i5 2500k, and 400€ worth graphic cards.

If you get picked and you lied, then you will get screwed. Besides, I've seen some people here complaining about low fps in-game and posting authentic monster specs in this thread. Seems legit.

How do high specs help in getting picked? I thought the reason for posting them was to get a wide selection of various specs to help optimise the client.

but PTx is right. You post your specs so the devs can pick a wide selection of different computer builds to help test.

Even if people lie about their specs and say they are better, it doesn't increase the chances of them getting picked, it would probably lower them.

I wouldnt mind testing,  I got an athlon black quadcore, and a radeon 6750. not super souped up, but works well in DX9.

I have mucho experienceo testing out games in Alpha and Beta. And a small amount of QA testing experience as well.

I can give constructive feed back and fill out forms :D

I'm running a quad core q9550 with with 8gb of ram and I think a 6880 I can give more concrete system information if needed.

I'm rolling 1h shield cav in full plate/retard mode with a MIGHTY NIBLES! Or for the less educated folk a Cataphract.

I have seriously horrible ping.

I'm willing to flip my char to engineering for a gen if it would be of more use for me to break/test all the engineering stuff.

well gazda if you stopped retiring like kulin,leshma,zapper and rest of beta testers you will get accepted.
You can see clearly that ppl are chosen are one that don't have interest in having or loosing multi.
So it is wise choice.

I still retire on my main. I don't retire for looms/money, I retire since I want to try a new class. I got alts for almost all the classes, but doing it on your main and really play that class is just so more different. You really learn the classes that way.

I never retired an alt. Don't see the reason. I make alts to have a ready character if I wanna play a class that my main isn't. If I retired them, they wouldn't be those classes fully. Alts are for fun, not farming gold/looms.

I also don't have that many looms. 2x Body armour, 1x head, 1x hand and 1x weapon +3 and 3 different +1 items. Compare that to Gurnisson with his MILLIONS of looms.
