enlighten banners (optional)
Riding a courser, I often find it hard to distinguish friend and foe in crpg. I have problems to see some banners, and can barely stop an attack at the very last moment, or misjudge a foe for a friend (see a banner where none is) and loose the horse or even the rider.
In native singleplayer when you choose a troop class the banner changes to some really aggressive color. It will most likely hurt some peoples eyes so at best you implement it optional. Please. Thanks in advance.

Agreed. It would be nice. Quite a few banners get lost in the back ground. I usually let the people know that their banner is hard to see on certain backgrounds, so maybe they'll get the hint it's not entirely my fault, and could be avoided in the future. But that doesn't work if it's a faction's banner.

In general a revamped friend foe system would be nice. The banner system just has too many flaws; ally under low overhang - can't see banner. Banner similar to background - can't see it. Large mob of players - hard to see who's banner is who's.
An optional outline glow for allies would be nice.
Caita I would just do a little red circle under their feet maybe for less visual intrusion. Enemies have red circle.
The problem with that is if an opponent's feet aren't visible, the circle might also be invisible, and it's still hard to tell apart in a large group (Though still a lot easier than a banner). (Also, I'd put the circle under allies, so enemies can still be sneaky.)
That was why I emphasized optional for my suggestion, as a lot of people would hate it. Unfortunately aside from a full body FF system, everything has flaws; and full body FF systems are an eyesore. :|
Actually, tying a full body glow to a hotkey in a similar manner to view outfit might work. If you aren't sure of a player's team, just tap the hotkey and check... anyway, something that I think would be nice as an option.
