NA siege is the worst map management in my 15 years of online gaming. honestly whoever is doing the shit job needs to be canned and let someone who actually PLAYS here do it

I suggest you post in the Maps section of the forums and list which maps you want removed (and maybe even why), using QMD to find the map names.
I am fairly curious though on who did the last update for it, as there are a few maps that were deemed aweful and removed many months ago maybe even last year, so I am curious on why they were put back (Like that charming one with the single circular stone wall, and the flag in an open courtyard.).

Digglez, maybe now you realize why so many people are afraid to make maps. People like you are so dimwitted that they don't realize that map makers need feedback to realize their mistakes. Dedicated map-makers will do what they can to make sure everyone is having a good time on the servers. When you decide that your time is worth more then theirs by insulting them here, you have successfully admitted to not understanding how a community of gamers works.
Please reconsider yourself as a part of the community of c-rpg.

What would fix alot of the problems is if people who make and manage the maps ever played siege. Give Diggles a break, he had a point but it was expressed only as well as his brain could manage. Point being the people who manage NA siege maps dont exactly play siege very often as far as i've seen.

I wish the people actually talking about making maps had ever actually made one. The issue with making siege maps, is that they are extremely hard to balance. This is due to siege specific mechanics. This is why I have always said that siege is game mode flawed by design. 10 times longer respawn timer for defenders on a ctf game mode don't exactly make it easy to balance maps.

<Canary> there's the kind that have the MILLION BREAKABLE DOORS which just create artificial bottlenecks that handicap the attackers by like 2 minutes every map and then the kind that have things like gate chokepoints that are good for defending but once they're lost the defenders are pretty much fucked*

*And a third type which require positioning the attackers spawn over a minute from the flag.
My suggestion: Think about ways to improve siege by changing the mechanics of the game mode, otherwise you're not going to be able to have balanced and enjoyable maps for both attackers and defenders simultaneously.

I think we should put Diggles in charge of the NA_2 rotation for a week or two.
If it goes well, he can stay in charge. If not, we won't have to hear him talk about how bad the rotation anymore. Win-Win situation.

They wont ever do it, because they know I will do a 100% better job than whoever the retard is currently doing it.
Plus devs are too lazy to make some code to track win/loss ratios for maps, so you dont even have the groundwork for anything remotely statistical for tracking balance.

We won't put anyone in charge who screams like an asshat and thinks there is a magic wand to fix everything. Threads like these are pointless, and contribute nothing. If anything they deter new people from making maps. If you wan't to be taken serious (which I highly doubt), you'd give constructive feedback on how to improve and change maps.

Frankly you are doing the absolute worst job possible. Plus you dont even play on NA server, so why are you in charge in the first place? You so called threads are a disaster in organization and you dont read or respond to most of the 'spot on' critics or feedback. I think I can maybe 2 times that a bug posted has actually been fixed and the fix implemented in rotation.
And yes, compared to what you are doing, anything would be a magic wand improvement.
SO how many hours of siege gameplay have you logged in the past 2 weeks?

But, I have been reading scene editing somewhat, and honestly, I see nothing but new maps being added and tried..? No, I think we have a healthy influx of new maps, especially lately for siege. One of the few mods, actually, with somewhat alive mapping community. Hell, you can even directly influence mappers, very easily by giving them critic. To bad most people just use it to slander the makers. Anyway, feel free to give suggestions on rotations and maps, but keep it constructive, and civil.

Exactly, you arent even playing the maps. For each person that posts a complaint about a bad map, there are probably 100-200 players that feel the same way but dont bother putting in the energy to put because they know nothign will happen. Why'd you even add QMD/QMU system if it isnt going to affect rotations at all? Why cant you show us votes on a community website?
The problem is you cant fix stupid, many of these maps are plain horrible and no amount of editing will fix them.
Instead of individual threads for each map to track changes in map, you've just thrown them all together haphazardly with 1 thread for feedback and 1 for each mapper (which can be anywhere from 2-7 maps). Each map or rotation change needs its own thread and voting system. Each continent needs their own rotation manager.

My guess would be they put a lot of maps back on to test how they work without ladders.

i second what kreczor said - to all of you, and everyone else in crpg community.
- IF YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH MAPS IN ANY SERVER GO TO SCENE EDITING AND POST ABOUT IT (constructively) -
In your post put a screenshot of the map, and list the overall issues or specific issues you think it has. No need to needlessly bash either - just say "this map is imbalanced towards offense/defense, or is glitchy, or something doesnt work - maybe doing X would help"
Couple things about scene editor and map makers.
- VERY FEW people make maps because the editor is not great, the process is confusing, there is little community support, etc. (try to make one, seriously lol)
- It is VERY hard to fully test a maps balance without putting it up on the server to see it in action and gather results - aka feedback!
- Most all mappers would love nothing more than to BALANCE their maps the best they can, so give them good constructive feedback.

NOW - as to the server itself.
Yes, siege is the bastard child of crpg not sure why - NA also is, so NA2 is the supreme bastard child of crpg.
Also, the map devs no longer have the ability to restart NA2 and maybe other servers because of some server changes, so they have to contact other devs like cmp, etc to do it. Until the server is restarted, updates to maps, etc do not go live.
