So we hear everyone talk about this OP throwing :D
Personally i don't think throwing is OP, tehre is just too much of it.
Anyways, i'd like to hear what throwing weapons you guys think are best compared to their price and ammo and stuff. What would you prefer to bring every round?

Jarids, they have the best damage to ammo count ratio, as you should be able to one or two shot anything (one shot if you are a dedicated thrower).
After that I think throwing axes for the stack and melee versatility and shield damage aspect.
Jarids overall for being extremely deadly, and axes for how little they cost combined with how they can be used to destroy shields.

I'm going with lances just for the OP one hit anything factor, and that they're also a reasonably usefull melee weapon when enemy closes in, as opposed to Jarrids or even Heavy Throwin Axes.

My 2h thrower loves javelins and jarids. Very, very accurate and with high powerthrow those babies are very overpowered. But the pinpoint accuracy is what makes them great.
Thowing axes have the most style though. Require much more skill and timing to hit anything with those.

War Darts are definitely best choice, and Javelins second best.

Heavy trowing axes, you can spam them easily and they do good dmg.
I personaly like the feel of the axes, never realy cared much for javelins and the other stuff. Also like the sound when they hit, its like *thump* and you are dead :lol:
*Edit: The accuracy is also ok in my opinion, i think that axes are better for hybrind builds, for example a sword and board/ trower wich i am playing now, jarids, javs and those are more for dedicated trowers

Im not sure if everyone see that, but according to site stats, javelins and every weapon above it have all bonus vs shield.\
Javelins are the best throwing weapon considering additional bonuses, dmg, shot speed, ammo, speed rtng and price.

Oh, in that case javelins are the best balance overall.

My 2h thrower loves javelins and jarids.
I like how he feels emotions towards specific weapons. :D
I would have to say Jarids, decent ammo and damage. Plus the bag on your back just makes you that little extra bit manly.

I'm Sorry, but I have to say this. I generally keep quiet about them but I'll bring them up.
4 point shurikens are the best throwing weapon. Far better than snowflakes. Add them to the vote. No this is not a joke.
They have the highest shoot speed causing the least drop and highest accuracy. You ninjas need to see the light!
Use them with 10+ PT with some wpf, and you're enemies will be crying bloody tears, screaming OP as they get headshotted across the map with more accuracy, damage, and fire rate than archers. Assuming you have good aim and can predict. Basically, 4 point shurikens are the best throwing weapon as player skill rises; while javelins and less accurate/higher damage weapons are better when player skill is lower.
Highly skilled player? 4 Point shurikens.
For a moderately skilled player? Darts are the best.
For a person who takes time to aim a bit? Javelins.
Low skill? Jarids are the best. Only luck and a general direction needed for kills.

My alt now has 8 Pt and PS. Definetly not enough. Will be 10/10 when finished.
Use Jarids atm. Lovely stuff....XD
When @ 10 PT ill try wardarts and some other weapons.
In general. Throwing is nice @ siege....

Best ones imo:
1. 4 point shuriken
2. dart
3. heavy axes (Anti cav measure)
In sieges I mainly use the shuriken and darts (lot's of medium/heavy armour for darts and when there's loads of archers I take the shuriken).
In battles mostly heavy axes to kill cavalry with and in town maps with few cav the ones I use in sieges.
Works like a charm.

Yeah that's where it goes wrong. Most ninjas dont go higher than 15 str. Not much a of a ninja when your top speed is half a mile per hour.

one shot lances are pretty op if you have <10 ps and <100 skill just because with all the tincan/33 str players on NA they're the only think that can really dish out damage and a bonus of being able to take down armored horses. I think axes are the most fun though.

The results of the "Which throwing weapon is best?" poll, will tell you which throwing weapon is most popular. And its not the same. One can predict poll results, after playing cRPG for a single weekend. :)
If one has 2-3 free skillpoints on lvl 31-32 ( as a 2h, cav, or whatever else ), then hell yeah! Axes are the best! On the other hand, a naked dedicated thrower will say Jarids or Lances, or even Wardarts.
I personally voted Javelins, since they have the best value/price, as a primary weapon. As a secondary weapon, my vote goes to Francisca. When hunger strikes my vassaled peasants, and plague takes toll on my herds - i use Wardarts. Shurikens and knifes are for the kitchen.

I think there are two weapons with significant advantages for declaring bestness.
Axes let you say "Let me axe you something..." kill someone and then say "Nevermind, you seem busy."
Throwing knives, on the other hand, let you follow every kill with "Knife to see you again!"
Puns are a huge part of being the best.

I can't spoil all the throwing secrets but , I'm having a good laugh at what people say ;) Just quick tip, you choose the weapon based on your PT , not the damage it usually does. You're not sure ? Try with a buddy or ask on duel server to do damage check. You'd be surprised of the results ;)

I think it's a matter of feel and what you can track best through the air. Heavy axes, javelines, darts, and daggers are my favorite things to chuck. Darts have an awesome throwing rate, daggers are fun to chuck at archers, javelines are very accurate, and I can track heavy axes the best.

Well I tested 4point shurikens a bit and...
From my tests, it seems, that a blunt dmg of stones (11) is better than cut dmg of 4point shurikens (20) vs armor.
I know, that it is well known, but wait...
I didn't expect stones won't bounce off Heraldic with only 9PT. They didn't, though 4point shuriken did. -.-
I wouldn't say 4points shurikens are good. They fly fast, yeah, but they doesn't have much better accuracy than darts (at least not at 9PT), and the dmg difference is A LOT. 4points shurikens < stones < darts, if you attack armor better than lamellar. stones < 4points shurikens < darts, if you attack a really bad armor (actually, something near clothes). That's what I'd say...
That sucks. For me, Marathon, you just typed bad weapon name. Maybe you meant darts? :D

now in all seriousness: Jarids are the best followed by war darts. Jarids can drop an opponent with 1 hit if they are lightly armored enough and running at you.
War darts: insanely accurate, decent pierce, higher than average projectile speed, large bag. All that with a measly requirement of 2 pt. Definitely needs higher requirements.

At over 7 PT, 100 wpt stones rock. They are so accurate (and you can follow their trajectory easily after throwing: so you can hit at long range). Great anti-archer weapon on siege.

All of you miss one thing. Higher PT req, less accurate your weapon is.
I mean: wpf at all doesnt increase accuracy highly enough, to make a thrower with 150+ wpf. 100 is enough.
But if you have high PT, your accuracy is REALLY GOOD. Even WITHOUT wpf. If you dont have any wpf (1) in throwing, but 9PT, you can see, that rocks are the most accurate throwing weapon at this point, and wardarts are a bit less accurate. If you take alook at javelins, they are SO inaccurate... but hey, Jarids are even less accurate. Why? Now take a look at req. Higher req = less accurate, because PT is increasing accuracy only if higher than req.
So stones with 0 req will gain accuracy from 1pt, 2pt, 3pt, ... 14pt. But for instance javelins with its 3req, will gain accuracy from 4pt, 5pt, ... 14pt.
And Lances with 7 req will gain accuracy from 8pt, 9pt, 10pt, 11pt, 12pt, 13pt, 14pt.
If you increase req of throwing weapons, you kill their accuracy.

Stones are still more accurate than snowflakes. If you have a reason for wanting accuracy over killing power then stones are better. You can kill a mid-level without helmet with two head-shots with stones PT8 from long range.
You should still put them in the poll even if you think they are not good - democracy after all.

I think Jraids and throwing spears are good for heavy armored opponents, because its Pierce damage but very expansive, also the throwing speed makes it more powerful and easy to aim. And the Throwing axe is good for the breaking shield and cheap, but deals much less damage to heavy armored opponets. So i personally thinks that javelins are better for throwing and is kinda cheap( its cheaper than the heavy throwing axe), also the ammunitions.
