It is. Rather shallow, good for a single playthrough at best.

I bought Legend of Grimrock

I found this game epic.
Hope they can add new dungeons soon enough, since... it's not exactly the sort of game you can play again and again and again.

Bought Portal 2. I know... i should have bought it way sooner, but i was broke. -75% is fine now.

Can't say. I'm abroad so haven't had the opportunity to try it. A friend told me it's a very fun, not overly complex 4X game, which mainly focuses on combat.

Just bought that as well, and well its rather entertaining, however some things are annoying with it but it looks to be a good game

I bought that and tested for 20 minutes, and yeah, at the first glance it looked pretty much like some civ5 mod.

Also bought Ubisoft-pack, but that fucking Ubisoft launcher... Wtf, I pay for my games and fuckers can't even keep their servers up

Thats what you get for supporting Ubisoft.

I've bought Arma2 CO (Ace/Acre) are fucking amazing mods, Portal 2, Napoleonic Wars DLC, and hopefully Just Cause 2 if it wins community votes.

I've set myself a limit of 20 bucks this sale and up until now I've spend 5 of 'em for Shogun 2 DLC. I love the Hattori-Clan. Hidden Archers even when firing? Ninjas with rank 5 on recruitment? WIN!

So far I've got Fallout.NV, star wars KOTOR, the Hitman series, Monkey Island, Avernum Bundle and ARMA2 combined Ops.

Not played any so far as too busy with Salem Beta which is actually looking like a fun game and of course CRPG.

Got some holiday this month so may get a chance to try some other games

How much different is it from the original? From what I understand, it's just a remake with better graphics isn't it?

Never played the original so i wouldn't know, but the graphics are stunning, ones that just leave you standing there admiring the view, until weird shit starts happeneing for panning the camera ;)

But apart from the graphics theres nothing to it tbh, its just a nice walk along a coastline listening to some dude storytelling, althought that story is exceptionally engrossing and drags you in until the very end

Depends. I expected one of the more realistic gaming experiences for shooters and bought it when it was reduced some time ago. But unfortunately that was shortly after I tried the battlefield 2 mod "Project Reality" and ArmA2 in general. So now it seems to me like some slightly less Counter Strike like version of Day of Defeat. SLIGHTLY. There is no teamplay at all.

I'd say it's worth it. Especially if you got some buddies to play it with. Dunno how its looking currently though. But tons of Russians playing last time i played it so expect some cheating.

It's a good game. Frustrating at first but once you get the hang of it it's really good fun.

To be honest, the moment I connected the first time to a server I never went under 1:1 (about, you don't see your deaths). Just grab a bolt action rifle and aim properly. Advance a few meters, stop, check the surroundings, advance a few meters, stop...

And I am everything but a powergamer or a skill monster...

Make sure you use mods. For the first playthrough ever I'd recommend Complete (there is a version for all three games).

It's too complex for you old man.

I use to play WW2 themed call of duties (on cracked servers ofc) under the nickname of Narodni Heroj Sava Kovačević (also played modern warfares under different nickname) and i was quite proficient with bolt action rifles so i recon i could manage RO2 without disgracing myself.   :P

RO:Ostfront was better, but RO2 isn't bad, especially now that they made 3 versions (classic, "realism" and action). The style of game you get depends on which of those servers you join. Get on classic and you will find a much more realism style game (ie slower, harder to aim, more lethal weapons, no spawn on squad leader). Most of the original fan base for RO ditched RO2, but its definitely improved a whole lot since launch. If you can get it for 75% off or 50% it might be worth it. Just needs more custom maps now or maybe new theatre with one of the upcoming expansions

They had a real identity crisis with RO2, now they still don't really know what audience they want to aim for but at least they try to accomodate all now. Just make sure to try the different server types

When you have the key (that looks like XXYYY-XXXYY-XYXYX or so), open the Steam client and click the Games menu, and click "Activate a Product on Steam..." and then enter the key when prompted and follow the instructions. Note: Please copy-paste the code, because sometimes it's hard to enter manually (0s and Os look similar and typos happen, etc). )

I only played it a few hours. its really good shooter in its own right, but not so radically different that it didn't just feel same old same old. so I guess only grab it if your a huge shooter fan.

I don't know about Witcher 2, played the one. Was okay. But i like to "tweek" my hero a bit, and it just wasn't possible. Of course, the story is... just awesome. But sadly, it's just not a RPG, more of a scenario game, with a fantastic choice of replies for discussion, and repercussions ingame. But not a RPG.

Bought it some days ago.. story and so on is good, but playingtime is reaaaallly short. For me it doesn't matter if it has 16 or whatever different endings if the average playingtime is short.

Playing time isn't short. Maybe compared to the first, but the first was so much back and forth pointlessly for quests that it got boring. Witcher 2 is amazing, well paced as well as quite long.

Anyone played Risen? Noticed it's only £3 and tempted.

Compared to other earlier games its short, but actually, all newer games are getting shorter.

Also, I liked Risen, Part 2 is good too. It's kind of a Gothic, but imo better.

That is true, just look at the Mass Effect games which have gotten progressively shorter. But then again as with Witcher 2 in terms of story the third is better paced and keeps you interested rather than sending you on endless side quests all of the place. I think I'd rather better pacing and story than over all play time.

Hmm definitely considering it. Looked at a couple of reviews and seems fairly solid. For £3.7 can hardly complain.

Red Orchestra 2 is meant to be realistic. It's not. The developers tried to expand the game to interest too many people, making it too arcadey for the realism lovers (Me) and too realistic for the cod, bf3, dods lovers. So in the end no one liked it and it died within weeks of release.

But there is one good note. It is moddable and mods are being made at the moment, hopefully a good realism mod.

Who's idea is to put 40% discount tag on ARMA II CO?

If developers decided to leech extra buck based on DayZ popularity, that's understandable and fine by me.

If they are cooperating with Valve, that's fine as well I guess.

But if it's Valve's idea, I must say that is kinda lame.
