well, i just reached 1 million CRPG old, and it made me wonder how many players there are, who has 1 million+?
You can also discuss how easy/hard it is to earn gold :p
-
It's not very easy as a cavalry player, given the expensiveness of my sexy courser. If I want to get some monies I'll have to use medium-low armor and a rouncey.
Or I can ride around naked (with a cheap shield) and use the courser. It's actually rather effective, though the heavy lance is still expensive.
I'm nowhere near a million gold, alas.
-
I never ride anything less than a Courser so yeah, I never went over 50k.
-
I'm currently at 1,023,000

I understand that to be a millionaire IRL, is a matter of priority, but here it's probably absurd :) Now what you will do with those millions? On any map I have not seen little girls, champagne and strawberries ...
-
Bah, i've been hovering around 100-150 k since patch. Damn horsey is expensive. :|
-
Meh i swing between 10k and 200k between generations. Earning the money while being an archer and spending it by being a tincan, theres just no reason for me to save up like that as far as i know.
-
ive been playing in heavy armor most time, so ive only earned 200k after patch, have 300k

You just made my day for that last comment.
-
I will likely become a millionaire soon with mine considering each gen earns me well over 100K in profit, and I have not a clue what to spend it on. Perhaps later down the road I will make a tin can and wear it 24/7 even on a X1 to have something to spend it on, or perhaps roll Cavalry and make a fancy riding tin can (even better).
-
i have the perfect equip balance so i can hover at 50k forever
-
I've been at a million for a couple weeks, closing on 1.25 mill now. Of course I started off from pre-patch with a few hundred thousand, which helped. Seems you have to be a ninja or be like me and just like wearing lighter armor as it forces you to manual block and use better footwork rather than tin can it. I have tried out cavalry and that is the only time I do not make money, every other build I have tried is constantly making more money because of low-medium weight armor and generally mid-tier weapons, plus my clan and I rock x5 for hours at a time sometimes which helps with income.
Also, with the new patch your cRPG gold will also be your strategus gold (being interwoven and meshed coser together) so hopefully this gold will help me finance my clan's army.

Wow, really? This sounds marvelous then.

Yeah...the most I had at once was 250,000, but then I went on a crazy shopping spree and I spent basically all of it. It was about this point that I found out that if you have over X amount of one type of item it won't show up in game, so there was much crying when I had to sell a lot of my items back. I still weep at night some times :'(
-
Got suprised that no one have said it yet
"Pic it or it didn't happen"
-
yeah, my gear is rather expensive aswell, although i've managed to save 250000...

Meh, considering how long some of these players have been playing, and considering how light some of them run as (Kesh or Carebear for example or that one RS/Chaos permanent peasant guy), I think I believe him heh.
-
...and I have not a clue what to spend it on.
Buy every item you want to try. I bought a bunch of horses and a dozen different outfits. Heck, i even bought a Churburg Cuirass and a Hounskull Bascinet just because i liked the way they look. Never use them though...
If i was richer, i might use my cataphract horse a bit more.
If you want suggestions as to what to do with your money? Make a heavy armored cav guy and use armored horses. Or a HA that uses armored horses. Great way to burn off extra cash.

I think I shall make a heavily armoured cav, just to shake things up in a few gens, and have a grand time just running around like a lunatic shrugging off innumerable blows while being generally ineffective, heh. Be a massive distraction and have fun.
-
1.17 million
-
well, CBA to take pic :D
anyways, i run around in black lamellar, black hood with mask, leather glvoes and khergit leatehr boots all the time... and then i play 24/7 :D
that earns quite some gold.
and i'm a ninja, so i've already boguht everything im allowed to use :D

The richest people in cRPG are Faction Leads, think about it, they technically manage everyones coffers :D
xD Kingly Levy

I dont think it will be btw Kesh, itd be unbalanced, chadz is probably going to reset the gold on Strategus and have everyone start completely wiped except for Land Ownerships.
-
God, you rich ppl make me sick! I wanna be rich
Cant get over 30k on my main, then again i wear heraldic transitional all the time

i guess it's unbalanced cos it's too easy to earn gold in cRPG, and gold in cRPG is only used for upkeep (and buying stuff, but once you have everything you don't need money except for upkeep).
It's seems Strategus will be more a matter of ressource :
villages produce goods and food
castles produce soldiers (it cost food), also you can't buy soldiers and you need food to maintain your army.
town produce equipment (it cost goods and work) you can't buy equip in a shop, only to other players.
gold will be use for paying mercs and trading?
-
Maybe cRPG gold won't be linked to Strategus anymore? Or only linked the other way, meaning you get gold in cRPG when you are paid for a battle in Strategus.
-
Until gold in crpg is linked to strategus, I don't see the point in having so much. I've gone as high as around 250k but I had to wear shit forever to get it. Since I've basically bought everything I want to buy, I've found a happy medium at 50k. If I go below a certain amount, I wear crap til I get back to 50k. Then I wear my favorite stuff. It lets me wear good stuff every few days instead of like a month of cloth for a week of plate.

I pretty much just did this last week.
I was almost bankrupt, gold was around 4k. I decided to get something cheap, the Studded Leather coat, and a mail coif.
After some days, I managed to earn 60k+, without heavy grinding, I just played for fun.
Also my gear isn't Milanese, just Mail and Plate, Faceplate, etc. So I can pay for it from a larger budget just fine, I won't lose cash.
-
Lv 29, gen 1.
I've never had more than 10k gold. I've got 2k now.
It's hard to be a cav.
-
I have a little over a million. I think I only have it because I've been playing since day 1, plus all of strategus, and that I most just use a throwing axe and be naked.
-
a good way to make money and which i do quite often, once i reach level 30 i like to run around in peasant gear using only a cheap shield and a good weapon, this is also pretty fun aswell, alot of people underestimate you and come at you pretty sloppy as they think they're gonna get an easy kill...
-
Bah, i've been hovering around 100-150 k since patch. Damn horsey is expensive. :|
same for me ;-)
-
I wear plate Armor most rounds and usually carry 2 expensive weapons and alot of times a huscarl shield or ride a cataphract and I have not been above 50k since the patch :)
-
I have a tendency to try to desperately spend gold. Buying a bunch of horses and doing gens as plate and/or horse archer seems to have done the trick though, as I went from 500-600k to 380k in the past few gens.
-
I will likely be an asshat and use super light gear for my next gen on Kafein then turn tincan cav like in the old days when I reach gen 7.
Upkeep sucks and was clearly designed by cav haters.
BTW : can someone reach 2^32 gold, just for fun ? It would make my day if it wasn't protected against overflow

That's 4 294 967 000 gold. It would take years to reach it.
-
I'm just over 900k
but will I estimate ill go down to about 800k this gen because I am using cataphract horse and heavier armor extensivly along with a full inventory of weapons
-
I wanna be a Billionaire....
-
Half a million now, I'm light cav so I balance out now. Next gen I'll probably bring in a profit.

It's hard to be a cav.
Also Level 29, Gen1. Not cavalry (though I do have a cheap horse for kicks) I've saved up 22k once (for plate mail) and recently 11k (for my German Greatsword) but I'm usually stable at 8-9K.
-
Just went full cav for a generation, for the first time. Started out at about 800k, at 730ish now. Generally use a Sarranid and light armour.
-
I find that I earn money the fastest by going ground archer. Cheap armor, cheap weapons. Major money maker. Hardest build to maintain is Cav, I would say. No matter if you go naked on that horse, you still need that horse and it is expensive.

Gets jobs?
Bragging about how much fake money you've gains is equivalent to bragging about how much time you've wasted playing video games.

The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
