Title: Gearlimit Gamemodes
Post by: CaveSquirrel on July 12, 2012, 12:37:26 pm
Just thought about that yesterday while playing on the EU5 >lvl20 Server.

Idea 1: "The Peasant-Mode"

What about adding a special day or a new server where everyone has a gearlimit of  5000 to 10000 Gold?
Not like the EU 5 for under level 20's only, but for everyone.

That would add some nice peasant wars.

They could run on a new server or like I said above on special days, for example on EU 1 or EU 2.

Idea 2: "Knights vs. Peasants"

Nearly the same as above, but in this one the Peasants got 50% more fighters than the Knights-Team, maybe even more %. (Example: 80 vs 40)
Peasants have the same Gear-Restriction of 5000 to 10000 Gold and Knights can wear everything they want.

Knights vs peasants is brilliant. Although I'd extend the rule so that knights HAVE to wear plate, so it's not kuyak gs my old friends vs peasants.

Archers would destroy this game mode. No offense, but I would. The game isn't balanced around the low end.

Why not have it so the Peasants keep respawning intill time runs out of the Knights are all dead???

Your idea gave me a better idea........team gold limits. It is not just the player but the team. So, each team can have a few knights but at the cost of the others going peasant. Very much like the battles of the past. So, I know pubbies aren't the best organized but I think this will make the game more unique and fun. It is a first come first serve basis, but perhaps that can be improved upon with some other ideas to force taking turns. Keep in mind though, if you want your team to win and hqve better equipment, you won't be equipment greedy.

That wont work, players are greedy and will all try to equip the tincan.

This is more in the direction of native... Takes away the fun part of crpg...

Totally, I mentioned this the other night, and think a Peasant's Evening would be a fun weekly or bi-weekly event for the community.  No horses above Sumpter, bows over Short, crossbows over Hunting, throwing over Stones or Knives, armor that has any difficulty requirement. Could be a fun change of pace for an evening every so often.
