Title: "Your proficiency in throwing weapons is too low"

I'm testing out a skip the fun build and got this red message whenever spawning, even if I don't have my throwing weapons equipped.  I've only bought throwing daggers and throwing axes so far, the daggers can be picked up I can't pick up the axes.  Is there a way to tell the proficiency requirement needed to pick up the 3 difficulty axes and/or stop the message? 

Here's the build details:

21/18
7 ps
4 athletics
3 riding
3 power throw
6 weapon master

154 2h
10 throwing

You need 13 or 14 wpf / rank of PT.  You'll still be able to equip them at round start, but you're only going to do base damage, as if you had 0 PT.

So you'd need 42 wpf?  Depending the weight of your armor (which lowers wpf after about 9.0 weight), definitely more to be safe.  Probably knock 2H down to 140, which gives you around 90 in throwing.

Might want to knock the build down to 18/18, max your riding and power throw instead of 1 more PS

it's 13 wpf per PT (14 wpf is for Power Draw)

Ah thanks for the info, I probably won't respec because I'm just testing it out for my main for when it hits 33.  I wish I wouldn't have put points in polearm, might have to rethink my 2h riding thrower bad idea build that uses a great axe and throwing axes from horse.  If I went ahead it would look like this according to the calculator, so points could be slightly off: 

21/18
7 ironflesh
7 powerstrike
6 wm
6 athletics
3 riding
3 power throw

156 2h, 12 pole, 32 throwing

3 riding is uberslow and 3 PT also isn't much. I'd ditch the riding and put 6 PT in throwing and take some 2h WPF (156 is an overkill) and put it into throwing.

If I would go for a 2h/thrower cavalry, I would go this build:

Enough damage, enough HA, and enough Throwing wpf to have some armour.

As for lvl 33...

34 and 35 would be attributes --> skillpoints to max out athl and get some IF.

My main is at level 32 with all points already allocated, so I was just testing out my options for level 33 with 3 skill points to spend after a conversion and a handful of weapon points.  I'll probably just add 3 more riding.

It may not do any extra damage but with only 3 pt/10 wp I'm definitely not having any issues with accuracy, especially when throwing down from walls and hitting archers in the head when they're standing just out of melee weapon range on a ladder.  I'm going to keep on messing around with different combinations of PT with the 32ish throwing I'd have to see if the novelty wears off.

If you don't care that you don't get the damage bonus from 3 PT, why do you waste 3 skillpoints anyway? Stones are 0 requirement. Get 3 more riding instead.

Screw me if I'm wrong, but doesn't PT also improve projectile speed?

yes, but OP doesnt have enough proficiency to actually make use of PT3. hes able to equip a pt3 weapon and throw it, but its only at a PT1 level and he cant pick them up

Wouldn't it be PT 0? 10 wpf is not enough for 1 PT, right?

It's actually 13 or 14WPF per 1 PT, fyi  :wink:
