Knightly heater shield, because the others look gay as fuck and it's better for stopping ranged.

This should really go in the beginners section (any advice stuff generally goes there).

That being said, I love the knightly heater shield, besides cost, I think it's the best shield since it only requires 4 shield skill, and it has 100 speed rating, and it has one of the highest body armor for the speed/coverage and shield skill.  I would suggest either using that, or an Elite Cavalry Shield.

Unless you're going to be a dedicated shielder, then I would consider the heavy heater shield, or the round steel shield (think that's the name).  Or possibly a Huscarl's Round Shield as well.

P.S.  Don't base anything off of looks, just compare stats!

It depends on what you are going for.

General shielding? -> Knightly heater all day.  Good durability and coverage.  A great all-around balanced shield.

Going for a fast athletics build?  -> Steel buckler.  It weighs less.  It's not so good against arrows and axes demolish it faster than the knightly though.

Need the slot space? -> Round buckler.  It takes 0 slots and only required 3 skill.  So if your build uses a lot of equipment slots or can have only 3 skill, use this one.

The best all arounder is the Knightly Heater.  The bucklers are specialized and are mostly just good for backup weapons (like polearm main and 1h/shield secondary) or athletic builds.

when i went 12/24 i used and still use a elite cav shield very durable and does not weigh much but otherwise knightly heater if youre only looking at these 3

if I had the Steel Shield Masterpiece would I get less hits from archer on my legs or is it the same!???

No, only shield skill does that magic.

Steel shield will protect your legs if you have 5 shield skill or above I'd say.  I haven't used it myself, but I notice with only 4 shield skill I can sometimes get shot in the foot when using a shield that doesn't go down that low.

knightly heater shield for sure.  Better coverage, less 'how did that arrow/swing/throwing axe go through my block???' moments.  Plus it is a way sexier looking shield.
