Title: Increase attack speed,reduce running speed.

I understund that slow speed is solution for ping problem,but still,is it possible to raise battle speed without bad consequences?Or at least make few servers with  fast battle speed?The problem is that duels in crpg are boring compare to native.Difference between crpg and native is that in native  duels are focused on face to face battle(chambering,blocking,distance),while crpg have too much footwork because of high athletics and too slow attacks.Looks stupid when tincan is making circles around his enemys while swinging with flamberge.

Athletics is already gimped. Also, it's one of my favourite skills, so I'm biased.

No, I don't like this, sorry. By reducing the athletics and increasing the swing speed, you'd only give people with crush through an easy time to just flatten you regardless of whether or not you actually block, and that is only one problem.

There are currently two people who I literally cannot block due to the fact that physically, I cannot see the swing because they are to blindingly fast. Both weapons have been a constant bane with many threads asking for them to have their speed reduced and this would only make this easier to do.

I think the reason that Native is like that is because the classes are fixed, here they are not, that brings a massive difference between the way things work, which also brings about a balance that is constantly changing.

I hope this gets my points across without too much rambling, but this is how I feel about that, it'd give far too much bonus to slower people, and I wouldn't be able to out run one handers who I don't have a hope in hell of killing with my 10 wpf in 2 handed.

We could change all the maps to checkerboards as well, and each stand in our own little square.

I didnt suggest to buff speed of people using crush weapon,I simply suggested to nerf athletics a bit.Lets say 6 athletics will be the same as 4 athletics now.I dont think people will struggle because of it,but at the same time it will lead to beautifull battles.You still use footwork,but without crazy circling. :wink:

I might be completely wrong here (honestly), but surely armor decreases your athletics and or mobility? Read and tested a fair bit and with heavy armor, it's borderline if athletics 6 has any real value compared to athletics 0. Backpeddaling brings it down to such a low speed regardless, and running forward is almost identical unless the other has reaaally high agi/athletics and lightly geared.

Also, imho, athletics has far less impact than agility. Anyone can circle (never seen it work all that well unless the opponent has poor motion/camera control) but it's the agility that enables the truly fast "spam".

I'm for reducing backpedal speed, but not all running.  Definitely a no to increased attack speed.

As I said,make at least one duel server with very high speed.

Its not hard to control enemy,2 things I dont like is that such duels looks stupid and after them my arm is paining as hell :|.

I don't think athletics does much, unless you are wearing light armor. In that case I think his extra movement speed is justified because of how fragile you become

About attack speed, well certain high damaging weapons are already scary fast. I don't think they should be made faster. Maybe there could be a less of a gap between the slower and the faster ones?

Actually, I would enjoy the opposite. Ranged peep have an easy time tracking their tortoise preys. I see more and more throwers constantly hitting moving targets.
