Title: Is archery viable?

I was thinking today and I realized that I miss my old fuckface longnose archer. Is archery a viable option nowadays or is it gimped atm? I personally had 24/18 (lvl 32) with the Horn Bow last summer, but since arrow weight got increased it might not be viable anymore. I just like spamming arrows that actually damage people, that's why a sniper build with 18/max agi would be bad for me. Who knows, maybe if archery is viable nowadays I might go back to it ;)

Just seeing players like Blackbow or Bagge on the field made me realize again how great support a good archer really is to the team. Also, general discussion about archery in this thread please.

Post by: Taser on July 06, 2012, 01:52:11 pm: Archery's viable, especially if you team up with another archer or group of archers. People don't respect archers even in groups sometimes so they'll charge and your group will pew pew him to death.

If you want to be an archer again, go for it. Wouldn't do 8 PD with the 24/18 build, although your example was a lvl 32 char.. nvm. Go for it bro. Annoy the hell out of ragers.

The hornbow build is the only one worth it right now.

Yep. Past PD 7 the accuracy penalty overwhelms the WPF.

Well longbow sux... It really does, no matter what build. It's useless and there is no reason to use it.

ask steevee about that, longbow is really good bow mainly for high lvl archers

and rusbow is to to fast to strong to aQQrate

That, or simply hit his head 12 times with a pickaxe and 0 PS. It's fun. :mrgreen:

I have that build, but 3ps instead. Low athlectics doesn't make much difference and 3 ps with a mace might, if you've the skill.

I prefer to just block every swing and kick his crotch every now and again, just for fun. Killing him would be too boring. :mrgreen:

The reason I'm going with athletics is because I don't think I have much use for anything else, except maybe Ironflesh, but I don't care much for 6 HP.

Typical build 18-21 but instead of 3 IF i had 3 PT :D nasty suprise for people chasing me round corners

Who me? If you do archery in RL I think you should read what the dangers are and not to freak out because some jerk overdrew his bow with too short arrow and even managed to shoot his hand :D.

Also, I find that once u get into high
wm (at about 7) the dmg bonus u get from wpf is almost as good as PD.

Maybe they understand that melee skills are not the only skillset in the game. Maybe they enjoy variety. Maybe they like to make typical crpg players whine predictably.
