Title: Silveredge Crossbow No More?

So I was missing the ole Melee.  Even though I know there are 3,000,000 ranged units out there now, and I can never rely on teammates to eliminate enemy ranged/cav(always have to do it myself)...  I kind of want to return to it.  I will not go back to cav, thats the easy way out.  What does the community want?

If you want to go back to melee, do it. Can always respec if you feel the itch to shoot someone in the head (not me though).

Grow some balls and go agi shielder... then murder all the enemy teams ranged guys that way.
being just another lame str crutch tin can would be lame, and you would prolly just end up raging at cav and ranged and then taking your xbow back anyways. you can put away your shield when you run into melee if you must, but get some high athletics and a shield and run those fuckers down! the crpg ranged removal public service could always use more capable speedy shielders to remove the filth! :D

Go 36/3, I've even got a +3 milanese plate to trade you for maximum crutching.

Stay crossbow but use something other than the god-awful mace. Langes Messer can be a decently long 1 slot 2H.

Why not compromise and use a 2 slot sheathable melee weapon with a 1 slot xbow? Just make a melee build and throw a few points into xbow wpf. Just use the xbow to deal with cav/runners/people you don't want to get close to.

I like the other suggestions here...stay xbow/2h but focus more on being "hybrid" than straight up xbow.  Carry a 1 slot xbow (crossbow) and carry 1 steel bolt and then carry a 2h/2slot sword.  Might have to put more into str than agi (not your standard 15/24 xbow/2h build). 

Maybe do 21/18 (at level 30)
convert 8 skills to atts
4 IF
7 PS
6 Athletics
6 WM

120 2h
117 xbow

That might not be enough xbow WPF for you to snipe, so maybe change the WPF's around some?

In reality, don't do the hybrid thing. We have enough players that wear medium heavy armor and pew pew till the enemy gets close and pull out their german greatsword.
