Just really getting into the game, have made a few STF characters but decided to finally start playing for real and doing the retire grind.
Just curious how long it usually takes people to grind out 1 full gen. mind you im only able to play like 2-3 hours 2x a week. So im assuming it will take me a bit longer. Im just ready for the next step, there have been so many fights where I have gotten more hits and just fought better but died because I didnt have +3 armor and weapons. So I guess its time to start grinding.
My only fear is starting so late in the game Ill never be able to "loom up" to the same level as most players.

/ 60 = ~ 77 hours

Skill matters more than looms anyway. With that time you'll need quite some time to level 1 gen, I'd say about 1 month and a half, maybe two.
Takes me like 3 months to do one gen, I play even less than you (but when I do I have a good multi).

It depends a lot on what your average multi is. For most people BlackMilk's estimate there is probably about spot on.

If you can play 12 hours a day then 1.5 week/ 2 week at max or less, if only 2-3 hours then yea the people above got the right numbers

dont worry, quite a few good players dont have a single loom and do well. or at least that used to be : )
but whatever, to level faster, think about joining a good clan and play with them, getting your high multiplier. also, try enlisting for big strategus battles, you can make 500k+ xp in an hour.

Rolling x 5 most of the time, I managed to be able to retire in less then 1 week.

Sadly, they won't accept unknown or low level players that easily.

Get to level 30 then sign up for AI castle defense.
I got about a million xp in the last AI castle defense, great xp.
