Alright, just to summarize and recap what happened: Allers had been harassing me for quite some time, calling me things like "idiot" and "noob" and saying "owned" every time I got killed by anything at all any chance he got*. However, the reason he got banned in this case was because he came back onto a server (he said he "DCed") after being muted (for saying "STUPID JEWS" backwards) and spamming "IDIOT NOOB" and other such ritual insults. He was banned for chat abuse because he essentially dodged a mute just so that he could continue to be offensive.
The reason for the length of the ban, however, is because of his long history of ridiculous bans for nearly every kind of offense across no less than three separate accounts. He literally once said that if someone teamhits him he would not ever refrain from attacking them back. Every time I've personally banned him in the past, he's berated me on steam over it*. It seemed as if he refused to accept punishment, whether it was deserved or not. To that end, he would and has always tried to appeal to the global admins and devs to try to find a way out of bans instituted by NA admins, going over our heads in order to keep playing (and, inevitably, breaking server rules). Well, no longer.
Please note: he's been systematically insulting me for weeks, but I haven't ever given out punishment (to Allers or anyone else) for simply giving me insults, as I don't particularly feel that my ego is worth defending by a convoluted use of the server rules.
Since it's clear that he has never accepted or learned from a ban and has never seemed ready to heed the rules of the servers as they are, I don't see any reason to lift the ban now. I may change my mind after a time, but in this case there will be no petitioning the higher-ups to have the ban removed.
