Title: EVE Online
Post by: Dach on July 01, 2012, 09:13:04 am
So who play that fucking bitch of a game?!!?

Nearly all my Fallen brethren have stoped playing it, wouldn't hurt to get new pals to play with.

I used to play... but meh, it came to it that you'd go for a roam for five hours, find 0-1 fights, except maybe dodge some idiotic blobbing attempt, go back, spin ship, log off. Great concept but CCP made a lot of retarded changes over time, starting with introduction of FW, in my opinion.

Maybe I get nostalgic after a while, resubscribe for a month, get bored after a week, and then not play for another year  :D

I love alot about the game, but its not worth $10-15 a month.  Game makes it too easy to run & hide instead of fighting.

Diggle I paid my last 2 month with in-game money... one problem solved.

Well PvP is really a  complicated beast in this game, there's trick to prevent people from escaping. Been caught myself 2-3 times.

It is Sequel I won't deny that, but that's still the only game that get my heart rate go crazy when I engage into pvp.

Still noob in that department, maybe it will go away with time.. I'll see.

I liked everything in this game except the combat system, which made me lose interest. If you're not bothered by the spreadsheet/a lot decided before the fight even happens it's pretty damn awesome.

I never played the game but I've heard some of the epicness that has come out of it.

Like people infiltrating another corp over the course of months then taking everything they can. There was supposedly someone who got people to trust him as a bank then he stole everyone's money like a year or something later and bought the best ship in the game worth millions or billions and dared people to come after him. I don't play though but it sounds like it can get pretty epic at times.

And how accurate is CAD's protrayal of EVE?

Pretty fucking accurate. In EVE you live for your corp.

I missed the last year's tournament (let my sub expire more or less after incarna)...

Anyway, you troll EVE tournament, EVE trolls back ;)

Btw, who are you in EVE, massasa?

Anyway, my opinion:
Eve PVP is actually quite good (more fun then most other games because of :loss:, and when you're in something super-expensive, getting in serious fights is exciting), and unlike what some people think, hardly predetermined at all, unless it is really a fucked up engagement (ofc, bad pilots sit and activate modules and hope they get killmail, so to them it is like spreadsheet PVP I guess).

However, the game was better before FW.

Lived most of my time in lowsec (tried highsec wardeccing for a week, utter crap, tried NPC 0.0 for some time which is great for farming but :meh: otherwise), it was much better before they introduced the idiocy which is FW. The hotspots became a huge meatgrinder, and the places away even emptier.

Then, instead of adding more activities to do in space they add station activities like captain's quarters to give an alternative to ship spinning, I guess, and add stupid stuff for cloaked alts like PI. So you waste time scouting on roams because there's 5 docked people or cloaked alts in every system; in the end, with maybe 4 hours of roaming you find one good fight on average.

Old pre-FW/host of other changes EVE? Would play again.

I only have like 12mil SP, so I didnt have enough SP or enough real time to play to make 400mil a month to pay for game time.

Another trick for you, you only need 1,150,000 SP in Trade and you can do it!  :P

Also that's the only way to make money without playing too much at the start.

I'm approching the 15M SP right now. Going for T2 cruiser atm. (Amarr cruiser lvl 5, 20d  :?)
