Greetings.

chadz-RolePlayingGame.

Roleplaying is not a competition between players. It is a competition between good and evil, or even a friendly rivalry or a rivalry between two different cultures.

As most of you know our clan changed theme from "Bandits" to "Saracens".

When Gnjus announced us what he had in his mind we were all excited because
we realized that there is no other Arab/Saracen themed clan,Turks and Arabs are
not the same BTW.

Now to succeed RolePlay you need.

1.Imagination
2.Variety

We have a lot of the first one,but we lack A LOT on the second part.


We have 160 ~ Body Armors (give or take),no we all agree that

70% is focused on Europe and Knightish themed armors
5% is like mongols armors
25% is Middle East themed,mostly turkish but I will put them all in one category.

The difference it is really really,but enough talking,time to cut to the chase (not the my old friend)

Be prepared a lot of pictures incoming.

Now that you got a taste of how Saracens looked like back in the day,take a look of what we are asking to be implemented on the mod.


First armour is a blue mail combined with a white conical turban (light armor tier)

Second armour is a brown mail combined with a brown conical turban (a bit heavier than the previous one)

A simple retexture of Mamluke Mail (Keep in mind that we have 4 diff colors of Coat of Plates,I don`t think that 1 more mamluke mail will hurt anyone)

I don't know why anyone thinks that adding Arabic armor would reduce the number of kuyaks.

The problem isn't a lack of Arabic armor -- it's a lack of European armor, especially Nordic options.  Nobody out there is going to say, "I really want to look Nordic.  Wait, let me pick this Saracen armor which is exactly the opposite of what I'm looking for instead!"

Awe shit. I hit No, but I actually want these now. These are great. Some of the shields are a bit much, but I do like the Horse and a lot of the armors and helmets.

Nice work Panos, those armour look great you got my vote :D (btw you only see me ingame with the Light Kuyak because I have borrowed a lordly one from my friend for money) as you say kuyaks are way to maintream and it does hurt to wear it, even if it does provide good protection for its weight :P

gulham is ok , matter of taste i guess
turban ok, for ppl who need it
shields and horse look good but like -20 fps ... also not my taste, since too pathetic
rest looks like stuff already in the mod with minor changes ... so i dont care much

With us Byzantines finally having succeeded in getting our armors in the mod, the devs gave them such shit stats that nobody actually uses them. Kuyaks need to be given worse stats and the Byzantine armors should be fixed statwise!

If these get implemented, please devs don't be lazy and give them proper stats.

These armours were given good stats, and if you ask me, they shouldn't even be close to the last tier (plate).

I wish I were in charge of adding new OSP`s I`ve seen so many great OSP and made me wonder why they aren`t implemented

We already have so many new armours and if we strictly stick with Calradia guess what.... We wouldnt be able to add anything as they didnt /do not exist in Warband. Right?

I've said this a few times already, saracen and arab armor was pretty much all couvered in cloth. A bunch of guys fighting in a dry hot climate in bare metal armor is nonsence.

When we advocate for realism we get spit on, are you even playing this mod ? Do you know how a cRPG battlefield looks like ? If it was realism 80% of that gear would not be there cause it wouldn't be playable at all. Tincans running around & jumping in full plate outfits, wielding 2-meters-long polearms or swords, etc, etc. Nothing wrong with these arabic armors, they're more realistic then most of the equipment out there. Besides we have all kinds of climates in cRPG, not only dry hot. In the snow & rain we'll get cold & wet so we need these.

I said this once,and i will say it again fix that armors. Look how retarded they look,no smoothness,they are poorly drawn. You should give that armors to someone who know to draw well,and fix that armors or they will never be added.

I don't get it why is so hard to do in photoshop clone the good one mail part and paste on bad part of armor? If someone is good in photoshop please fix that armors for them.
beer every armor in this mode looks very good,so if you want to do some job u need to do it like pro and do it well,or some other ppl will go and ask for even worse done armors to be added too.

Rarely do I see armours that I like the look of. Thats why I have a blue tunic over mail +3 thats nearly 2 yrs old, cause its that awesome. Didnt like the viking stuff, nor the byzantium,nor the russian stuff, but I must admit I like a couple of these armours. The red ghulam especially. It has my support, +1 greek.

Realistic models dont exclude ballance and diversity, as there was diversity irl. This does breed misconceptions, such as saying that these are arab/saracen models. That's the only problem, include these armors at will, but call them something different. People might think that mamluks and the like actually dressed like this.

Those osprey books are intended to show the details of the armor. Look into the period representations instead. I'll add that there is\was an historical misconception where the saracens where thought to wear little to no armor, precisely because the armor bits where couvered by robes and stuff. The europeans themselfs started wearing surcoats when they went fighting in the holy land. This is history, and in fact it's been an arab tradition to wear robes primarely because of the climate. If this does not convince you, then try it yourself, go into a desert and wear armor with nothing else on. You dont even need to move around to feel the facts on your body.

I hope you know I was only fooling around a bit. And if you paid attention you could have seen that I actually +'ed your OP and I voted "yes" for implementation, because I think those armours fit into the mod very well. Yes, of course, they are not top quality armours, but most of the rest of the armours in cRPG is'nt either.

So? What about those armours? Will we ever get some statement from the all-mighty devs or are we just ignored?

There is a shitload of dresses, useless hats and other ugly crap in the crpg-inventory that nobody... yes, seriously nobody EVER wears. Going through all that crap and getting rid of it, is long overdue.

This armor is actually good looking for the most part, it makes sense historical wise to add them, it makes sense roleplay-wise to add them, there has been the blessing of the people who made it, lots of people already said, they like it.

So? What is the damn problem then? Explain it to me cuz I just don't understand it.

Is it technical? Thought you all were so damn smart? ...at least that's what people are supposed to believe, I guess.
Is it personal? Get over yourselves then.
Is it motivation? Not our problem. Everybody keeps saying "...but they do it for free". Well, yea, but they applied for the work willingly too.
Is it the stats? Just give them the same stats as comparable armor that already is ingame. Make it an alternative to the Kuyak-clone-army.

Did you guys see EU1 lately? Hardly reaching 80~90 players during prime-time. I dunno, like 2 or 3 days ago, 9PM and EU1 had as many players as NA1 - around 55...
And don't give me the "It's summer"-bullshit. We're all addicts otherwise we wouldn't put up with this crap through thick and thin...

Most of this armor looks sick! I'd vote to have this added Good Job!!...Caladria SHHmaladria. Im sick of looking at Gay Nords, most of these idiots (including me) who play dont even know historical facts about the shit they wear sooo unless this is history class I would add more classy looking armor to throw into the melting pot (not saying rainbow unicorns and dragon armor).
