Title: Tithe for the Guild bank discussion
Post by: Fluffy_Muffin on June 27, 2012, 07:44:02 am
The current system for gold deposits in the guild bank is "donations". I reckon some of the bigger guilds have some kind of internal system for deposits already in place within this donation system. The problem with this is that 100+ people must click and type each and every day, when it adds up that is alot of unecesary time wasted.

What i propose is a system for automated gold collection.
Why? Now that we have a guild armoury it would be a nice way of colection gold for looms that everyone can use for said armoury.
I can think of 3 different systems:

2. Tithe - this is the system most people like

Each member sets the ammount he is willing to pay daily. For example Joe is a high end gear crutch and he cannot pay 100 gold per day, he sets his tithe to 50 gold and John is a archer/ninja/peasent whatever, he can afford to pay more money so he sets his daily tithe to 500 gold.

The benefits of this system are that everyone can choose exactly what is the ammount they want to pay and they can ajust it at any time. In case they want to pay nothing at all the tithe can be put to 0 gold.

This system is theoreticaly the same as the current one just automated in practice for conveniece.

The idea is good, but what happens when i decide to go ninja peasent mode in order to save for that +1 item i just cant live without? Dont want to be paying my daily tax then.
Also this is depended upon people always been able to play, what happens to player C who wants to stay in his clan with his freinds but can only play 2hours a week and thus looses money like a fat person in a chocolate store.
So voted no, but thought id at least justify my reasoning to you.  :)

Not a problem if the guild is supplying loom pointed stuff in the armoury.

Percentage would make more sense, in case someone has to disappear for a week or two.

Then you set your tithe to 0

If the 2nd system were implemeted

Very good idea. +1

I was thinking about same.

Sine its complicated to transfer money all the time around.

Also.. Some have donated almost 200k some none.
This would be fair thing to do since clan has to buy banner and help poorer members.

Also, i would like to see 2nd system implemented.

Bad idea. If someone wants to donate, he'll donate. Big clans already have more than enough money for purchasing banners.

I like the system and idea, therefore a +1. However everyone should decide to donate or not to donate. So everyone should be able to decide himself.

So I approve the second point.

From the replies of the community decided that the tithe system is the most convenient, you can put any ammount you want

Auto-fill.
Or take two seconds to push a few keys. If it's so time wasting, why do you play cRPG?

I think this could cause more drama than its worth. Like people putting the tithe at 0 looking like they aren't contributing. People putting a high tithe and later wondering where their gold went to (and they will look at the clan leaders and wonder if they are getting rich off them)

It should stay as personal donation imo, and tbh I'd keep the info for clan leaders only. It can cause people to want to leave the clan rather than feel like they're causing friction with other members. I don't think people should feel they have to give away their gold to stay a member. If you need gold for a banner then thats understandable, or if the gold goes directly to purchasing items off the market to put them in the armoury (and putting it into the lottery doesn't count). Leaders do put time in, but you need to balance it all with keeping a healthy active clan base and tithes might go against that. As I mentioned first, "set at 0" might not be an option realistically

Sharing items is easy now and completely risk free I believe (for the controller of the clan bank anyway). Its more a friendliness thing than something you expect compensation for, imo anyway

Why not do it so a percentage like .5% of your repair costs go into the guild bank as a 'charge' for the repairing of the gear, this would balance out as archers generally wear light , and the majority of melee wear medium - heavy?

You mean 5% on top of the repair costs, as they are meant as money sink and not to get distributed around or even for the clan. :P

No i mean .5 not 5. POINT (....) .5%and that would be added on to the current repair costs yet it would be a hidden fund as it goes straight to guild bank

I was thinking more of the taxes. Anyway, nobles (officers) doesn't play taxes, so I'm safe

Jews don't pay taxes either, they just get a percentage of everyone else's donations. I'm safe too.

Does any clan need a priest?  Then I could take ten per cent off all members to let them know killing enemies isn't really that bad, and charge large sums of money to members who TK or TW for penitence.  I would have to switch to a blunt weapon though, as a man of god shouldn't spill blood.
