27/12 Scythe loom
-
What class do you plan playing? That would narrow down builds and possible looms quite a bit :P
-
loom a club. then buy a ragged outfit and stones and a hide shield and become a caveman.
-
Not wanting to just create a new thread. I plan on going on a Hoplite build (Shield+Pole)
What should I loom for that?
-
asswood pike, or body armor

Ashwood pike if you want to do a spear+shield character. Or warspear if you prefer; it's more useful when you drop your shield.
Or you can trade your heirloom point for ashwood pike +1 and money.

Most Likely cav, most likely lancer.

Never loom weapons, always either:
1)Trade loom points for weapons or weapons+gold
2)Loom gloves, trade gloves for weapons+gold
The market is flooded with weapons, so you can always make some money by trading loom points for weapons. Gloves are nearly as valuable as loom points, so they are a good way to consolidate loom points into something useful. Many people will take 2 loom points for a +3 weapon, so you basically get your +3 weapon 50% faster.
Also, don't discount the value of a loomed shield. Depending on shield, the extra armor and shield HPs are worth 2-3 shield skill points worth of durability, not to mention the speed bonus from looming. For a Hoplite, shield is less important, since you need to be good without your shield anyway to do any serious damage.
-
Sell the loom, or loom your gloves.
-
What makes gloves so valuable to everyone? Heavy Gauntlets give like 8 body armor...

One of the major advantages of looming gloves is that for most people, its one of the 1-2 Items in their set they use consistantly.
For example, if you loom Mail gauntlets, you will be pretty much able to use them on ANY armor and ANY build you might make, making them universal.
What good is a loom if you dont use it next gen or only few times?
The second thing seldomly changing would be boots, but for most thats low-priority to loom.
