Title: Polearms on horseback (not lances)
Post by: Penitent on March 31, 2011, 10:23:35 pm
So I bought a Glaive, hoping to swing it from horseback and lop off people's heads...only to find I can only thrust with this weapon while mounted....?

1. Before I waste more of my gold...are there any polearms you can swing from horseback?

2. Also, while using 2H weapons while mounted...are you forced only to thrust as well?  If not, do they only do 1H damage? (I believe the animation uses only 1 hand.)

Thanks for your help!

Use the Long Hafted Blade, you can slash with it from horseback.

Problem Solved.

For 2h on horseback, you can only use a few weapons on horseback, MorningStar, Bastard swords for an example, As far as I know, if you don't have a shield on, it will use the 2h WPF, with no penalty on speed and power, but even if you would have penalties, the Speed Bonus of the Horsie makes up for it.  8-)

Ok, so the long hafted blade can be swung from horseback, but the glaive cannot?  Why is that?  Are there any other exceptions?

This noob is getting confoosed.  :?

I've only seen LHB swings from horseback, the reason for other weapons can't do it..well, balance maybe? I don't know.

The only polearms that can be swung from horse back are the hafted blades now, I believe, a while back staves were swingable and could couch, no more, anyway, I'm pretty sure there was a stickied thread on this somewhere on the forums. It tells every attack/special properties of all weapons in c-RPG. Do a search on "heirlooms" or "weapons", if you look I'm sure you'll find it.
